If you watch the precision of Chertoff's statements, he differentiates "the Cold War" and "the War on Terror." He does a good job deflecting the root cause of failure about 9/11 .... and he knows it, too. The US government allowed all the terrorists that hijacked the planes to be here even though there was adequate means and methods to have prevented them from their plans. All 19 hijackers were here in the US illegally and were never checked out by the US State Department but were granted visas anyway. Chertoff further backs up the need for the US Patriot Act's domestic surveillance programs on US citizens as though this preposterous and outrageous piece of trash would have prevented 9/11 in the first place. He is a liar. Everything that spews from his mouth is a lie. America didn't need more government workers spying on US citizens .... America just needed government workers to do their jobs in the first place. 9/11 was completely preventable. But the US government was asleep. The quality of US government workers is abysmal.
