The funny part about all this is the protesters are surprised that the police and military are doing this. They show up to the protests, all bright eyed and idealistic. They are probably all college students with no firm ideological foundation. Of course, since they are college students, they are completely unarmed. They throw rocks and stuff at the cops, wear masks, etc.

When the cops respond like this, the protesters are bewildered. I think it is interesting to note the differences between the G-20 protests and the 9-12 protests. I wonder if the next time the same people show up for the G-20 protests, they will have more than signs.
