Not a bad idea at all. I'm totally beat. The day was spent orienting ladies to shoot handguns 2Asisters.org - out in the Hill Country of CenTex. We started the newbies on .22's and by session's end they were blasting away with .40 and .45's - it was great. Twenty-four more patriots have taken their first step toward protecting themselves, their families, and their property.

Most newbies don't know how to clear a jam and if they do are going to be too damn scared in a real life situation to do it quickly and calmly. Paxton Quigley, the adorable and deadly author of "Armed And Female", reccomends the "Ladysmith" .357 - with Pearl or Ivory Handles of course. ;-)

Good idea. Several of the older ladies have trouble racking the slide on an auto-loader, so revolvers are their choice to carry. For any of us, a good revolver is the most reliable handgun out there.
The fail-proof nature of the revolver has much to recommend it. I took some new McCormick mags out and for whatever reason the hulls were not extracting half the time, and the .45ACP revolver using moonclips was not firing all the rounds. This was all using some rather inexpensive re-loads so I don't know if that was the problem or not. I guess that some Winchester Ranger rounds might have to be used to see how that goes. Pretty crappy feeling to squeeze the trigger and zilch happens.
