Thanks. It's a 72 sportster that I resurrected from the extremely dead about 10 years ago.

That was at the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association Fall Round-Up in Heath, MA, a couple of weeks ago. It rained all day Friday and Saturday so it was a bit of a washout. Usually it's a great party. This year it was kinda quiet. I ended up catching a flu or something, from getting very cold and wet riding up there on Friday in the rain.

Rain or not, there was no way I was missing that one.

Yeah, when I used to vend at bike events, I had to compete with that shit.

I'd put on a pink thong over my jeans and the women would come over by the dozen. I'm on more cell phone cameras than Jesse James...

I love to ride. I live in VA and did 4300 miles last year, round trip to Sturgis. I did Key West Florida this year and then stopped by bike week at Daytona. Nothing quite compares. I did the Sportster thing for years, they are great bikes. Here's the new ride...almost got to make a run out to Colorado and then hit the Grand Canyon last month...it just didn't work out. I'd like to take about 6 months and just ride all over the country...before it really hits the fan. Photobucket

Pretty much anything that isn't a Harley. VTX, Boulevard, Hiabusa. Sorry the pictures are too big. Sigh. I guess I need to cut them down.

OH right, a Hiabusa is an old man's bike. Sure it is.

WTF is a Hiabusa? Sound like something you eat at a sushi place... which is something real men won't eat anyway.

Well I had it spelled wrong for one thing but it is the fastest production bike on the market. Hardly an old man's bike.

My husband's Honda VTX is a cruiser with lots of power and none of the vibration of a Harley.

Yeah, but it don't sound as sexy. Although an "Indian" would be acceptable.

I've never been able to warm up to "Rice Burners". I know intellectually that the Goldwing is a good machine, but it AIN'T a Harley.

The VTX had the great rumble of a Harley without all the vibration. Plus it is a more reliable machine. And if that doesn't convince you then how about this:

HONDAS ARE MADE IN AMERICA! Hareleys are only about 40% American.

The counter-balanced engines hardly vibrate at all. As far as reliability goes...well, these "newer" bikes are a whole lot different than the older bikes, I've got 26k miles on mine with not the first problem, and know folks well into 100k miles with the same status report. What you are saying about reliability used to be true...no more.

Mine breaks down almost every time I use it, but I would guess that if there are any 72 hondas on the road, they do the same thing.

I dont mind the breakdowns. I fix them on the spot and I'm back on the road, usually within a half hour. It's all part of the ambiance.
