You blessed our lives for 20 years, were always a joy, and the "best boy that ever lived." We loved you with all our hearts. We will miss you more than words can express.

I'm saddened to hear of your loss, Christine.

If it had been in my personal power, I would have murdered that cat when it was conceived.

In defense of Bucky, aka "US_GRANT," he must be in great pain himself to have made his (ahem) comment...

Then again some people resent grief over pets or animals that they believe should be reserved only for humans - maybe that was the case as well.

FWIW, I don't believe you meant what you said, Buck.

Thanks for sticking up for me.

BTW, I have a few burlap bags available for murdering cats. Here is how we do it: step 1) place the goddamned creatures into the bag. step 2) place the bag into a barrow of water. step 3) after five or so minutes, pull the bag out and throw it in the trash.

No mess ... no fuss... what-so-ever!

What? You want a dead-cat thread? Lets see now ....

Why are dead cats fatter than live cats?

The live cats are the ones that can run faster than dogs.

Why was nearsightedness fatal for the dead cat?

He thought he was climbing onto an ottoman, and it turned out to be a sleeping Saint Bernard.

Why do we know there are a lot of dead cats in hell?

Because you aren't allowed to lick your hind end in heaven.

Why do so many dead cats have four broken legs?

That's what happens when you fall out of a hundred-foot tree, and land on your feet.

How do you know which cats have had near-death experiences?

They're the ones that have short tails, with a dog's teeth marks at the end.

When do you know that a cat has been dead for an hour or more?

When he doesn't have any saliva on his anus.

What were the last words heard by the dead cat?

"Look, Mama, that kitty is going into the doghouse."

Why do most cats die in the morning?

Because most dogs sleep in the afternoon.

What was the practical joke that the dogs played on the dead cat on a windy day?

They put vodka in his milk, then chased him up an aspen tree.

Why do cats get fatigued when they commit suicide?

Because they have to do it nine times.

Why was the dead cat found with a charred tail, in the breakfast nook?

He didn't realize he could get his tail caught in the toaster.

Buckeroo, there IS a difference between wild, feral cats and domesticated, house-broke cats.

I fed a feral cat for almost a year from the time I first saw him when he was about 3 months old. He used to like to fetch a small piece of rolled up paper. One night, as I sat there, he came and slowly climbed up in my lap, and began purring and kneading my legs. He did it many times after that. He disappeared a year and two days ago, and I searched for him for 10 months. I'm still not over him, so I can only imagine how much more you are hurting, christine, and my heart breaks for you. Not a sparrow falls without God noticing. All tears will be wiped away when Jesus comes back, and He "told" me a long time ago I would see a beloved dog again, so I trust we will see our cats again, too. Until then, hold tight the memories of your well-loved boy, cry as much as you need to, trust God to make you whole again, and know we're all pulling for you [or at least, MOST of us].

Was this a vision?

I guess you could call it that.

I asked for a sign as I looked out into the back yard. I asked for the honeysuckle tree [not bush, TREE, which is most beautiful btw...I love that thing] to sway. It was a very still day and nothing was moving, but no sooner did I ask, but the tree started to sway as if a big gust of wind had hit it. I was quick to notice nothing else was moving, just the honeysuckle tree. I thought wow, maybe it was just a coincidence, so would You mind doing that again? The tree swayed and the branches bent over to within about a foot or two of the ground, more than I had ever seen, even in the biggest ice storms, and still, no other trees were moving. I said, okay, just one more time, to be sure....and nothing happened. Immediately it came to mind, "O ye of so little faith," and I thought okay, God, I believe you.

But, your vision had nothing to do with dead-cats, did it? You were inspired by GOD (himself) for your dead-dog.

Correct me if I misinterpreted you based upon your original post.

Yes it was a vision for my dog. However, we have asked and been given signs for other pets as well, such as guinea pigs and rabbits. It has gotten to the point that we don't even ask anymore, because we now expect they will all be back with us some day, but sometimes some sort of sign is given anyway. I gather you don't like cats, but God created them, and when He was done creating, He stood back from His creation, ALL of it, and said it was very good. I was always a dog person, but when this cat came into my life that changed a bit. Now I love them both.

What about chickens, turkeys and goats? Aren't they special too?

You won't get any arguments from me. I've always been an animal lover, and haven't eaten meat in a long time, just in case that's what you're getting at.

Why don't you lick your chops staring at a dog or a cat? What are you a Buddhist priest?
