Researchers found that just being in the presence of a pretty member of the opposite sex causes a temporary boost in levels of testosterone and cortisol – both hormones associated with alertness and wellbeing.

Gee. You don't say. Really?

I suspect next they'll discover that fish live in water. Don't quote me though, as that's only a hypothesis at the moment and hasn't been studied thoroughly by the Department Of Researching The Painfully Obvious.

MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

the rise in testosterone doesn't surprise me, but the rise in cortisol does.

"This Act (the Federal Reserve Act, Dec. 23rd 1913) establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President (Woodrow Wilson) signs the Bill, the invisible government of the Monetary Power will be legalised... The worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency Bill."--Charles Lindbergh, Sr.

Now, now, retract those claws.

Girls good. Make caveman civilized. Ugh!

After all it was women who popularized the fork - rather than just eating off a roast haunch with a knife.

but the rise in cortisol does.

Not really. Makes sense given that women make most men extremely nervous.

"If, from the more wretched parts of the old world, we look at those which are in an advanced stage of improvement, we still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised, to furnish new pretenses for revenues and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without tribute." --Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1791

Oh I could make some comments, yes I could. Something to the effect that men's brains are not located in the skull like women's brains.

Cortisol helps regulate body fat. More cortisol, less stress. Less stress, less body fat.

which brings up an interesting question. My husband's cardiologist has reduced his cholesterol waaaayyyy down. During this time his problems with anxiety has gone up. Could there be a relationship?

Psychologists found that just a five minute talk with an attractive women raised the levels of testosterone by 14 per cent and the anti-stress hormone cortisol by 48 per cent.

After one nanosecond of looking that picture, my level of testosterone has dropped by 200% and my cortisol level by 99.65%.

You're damned right there is.

Doctors have been meddling and meddling and putting people on medications in order to keep them as repeat customers.

It's utter nonsense. The people who DO actually have problems are the ones who might need the treatment, but most medical professionals are CREATING new patients, and new repeat customers based on bogus research.

Better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you are not.
