I have been waiting since early April for primers to come in at Midsouth so my order could ship. Today, they finally shipped them. 5 months!

Now at least I'll have enough goodies to outlast the coming mayhem, I think.

One great side effect of being in the tire business now... I have about 60 lbs of scrap lead wheel weights. It's time to start casting some lead ingots.

Eventually I want to get one of those die sets for forming .223 bullets out of spent .22 long rifle cases. Then, once they manage to completely wipe out ammunition sales, I can send some homemade bullets to my reps with a big "Fuck You!" note. :)

Our prayers are answered.

Okay, you're off the prayer chain, hoarder of ammo supplies.

Why would you want the bullets to be brass, instead of lead?

brass, instead of lead

IIRC, there's a pre-formed chunk of Pb that inserts into the .22 brass; then, the die forms the brass over the Pb, thus creating a FMJ. I never did it but it would be an interesting endeavor.

What the die set does in turn .22 long rifle cases into FMJ bullets using scrap lead. :)

Let me get this straight.

Obama's health care plan shall be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it, signed by a president who smokes and has no birth certificate, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is overweight and financed by a country that is nearly broke.

Most everyone that I know here, and in the real world, is armoring up to the teeth.

Stay safe and well-armed, all.

Why, this is horrible! What has become of you to think of your fellow man as being some sort of shooting target? Aren't you aware that you could add to the CDC reports for "America's Worst Epidemic: firearms" and create a loathe list of Washington DC legislation?

At this point, Washington DC demonic powers may have you already slated: outlaw critters altogether; the ones that type ASCII code.

You don't believe that by paying cash I can stay off the radar, do you? I've made so many waves over the years that I have a permanent place on the screen. :p

That's well and fine.

Now, what do you have stored to eat, and how do you have it stored? Can it last for several years? How about heating in the winter? Water filtering, you have that covered for long months or even years on end? Do you have non-hybrid seeds to grow food after the larder gets thinned out? Do you know *how* to grow vegetables/fruits even? Got a fishing spot picked out that everybody else isn't going to flock to? Same with hunting?

Cartridges are great, I have a lot myself. But you can't eat lead, and you can't figure on being able to loot passers-by of their oranges.

Actually, that's incorrect. The old timers, the pre-2008 types that routinely engaged in food storage, ammo storage, etc. are online helping others who are now also showing up online asking "how". Neighbors are talking, planning, the whole shebang. It's not a Silent Lone Eagle situation. And that's a good thing.

We'll do better if people reform a sense of community and common purpose, even at neighborhood levels. Can't say that I consider that wrong.

Not bullets...

I'm not sure where to find those to be honest.

I'm just into .308 and .223. :)

Those were honest questions, I wasn't trying to bring you down off your buzz.

Many people get a lot of ammo and guns and unintentionally neglect the things that will actually keep them alive (food, water, heat/shelter).
