Collectivism will lead to the loss of freedom when earners are forced to subsidize non-earners at the point of a gun.
No one wants to see homeless people on the streets, or a single mom struggle to feed her children, but lessons learned the hard way are often the best remembered. The welfare state supports error. The welfare state promotes degeneracy and it self perpetuates its own growth to the point where the workers are outnumbered by the slothful. The average American worker is being forced to finance his/her family and several other families both here and abroad. This cannot continue.
When it is mandated by government for the workers and earners to support the non earners, build the non earner's roads, hospitals, schools, etc., ultimately an iron fist will develop to enforce the collection of funds necessary to the continuance of these efforts. This can only lead to a corporate dictatorial state wherein the combined efforts of government and corporations embolden each other to take more power. Corporations and government use each other to track, report and control the workers/citizens. And while it may look beneficial to some for awhile, the ultimate end of collectivism is iron fisted dictatorship.
The collective welfare state leads to the degeneration of society as can be witnessed in the videos of ACORN's willingness to assist a couple posing as a prostitute and con man (wanna be congressman) arrange government funded loans to buy a house intended to be a brothel employing underage hookers.
Not that long ago I saw an article about a woman being forced by the government to take a job as a "HOOKER", in Germany. Her acceptance of unemployment funds put her in that position. The STATE will become addicted to its power and need taxes to enlarge itself at the people's expense. This governmental behavior is intolerable and must be rejected.
I think we've had enough Governmental double talk here in the land of the free. The politicians and their banker owners know exactly what they have done and intend to continue these policies until the people are destitute, scared and too poverty stricken to fight back. If they don't succeed in their efforts to frighten and starve us into submission they know they will end up like Mussolini and his wife, having their necks stretched at the end of a rope !
Ayn Rand saw collectivism first hand and we have been getting it in dribs and drabs since 1913 ... to the point where nearly everyone on this forum KNOWS WHERE WE'RE HEADED ... those with backbone will resist, those like Ferret Mike, dress up like dissidents, pretend to have a cause and suck off of the government teat through govt. programs and jobs.
Self-discipline is what we need. We must take it upon ourselves to do the hard things required to recover our freedom. And yes, it could be quite painful for awhile, but if we don't it will be painful forever. Liberty lost is seldom recovered.
Fuck the banks, the bankers and the lawyers that defend fascist criminality in court or pass laws to make criminality LEGAL. If you're supporting their system you know it; and whether you admit it or not, unless you're a narcissist, knowingly continuing to support the fascists for your own convenience will eat away at you until you don't even know who you are or what you stand for, if anything.
