Here’s a shocker: an online poll at www.ronpaul.com that asks if Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul should run for president again in 2012 shows an overwhelming majority believe he should.

Some 93% of the nearly 3,000 voters said he should run in 2012, while 3% said he shouldn’t and 1% said they don’t know. Online polls are unscientific and it’s no surprise that visitors to a grassroots Web site in support of the Texas Republican’s political agenda favor him running again.

Paul scored few votes in 2008, but his bid made him a household name and his warnings about the state of the U.S. economy have proved prescient at times.

If Paul were to run, he would turn 77 in August 2012—five years older than Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain was in the 2008 campaign where his age was an issue.

But Paul may be considering it. He will speak Nov. 9 in South Carolina (a key primary state) at an event to discuss the “future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution.” And the following week he will travel to Iowa for appearances in Ames and Des Moines.

Ron Paul should run even if it is just to get another opinion out there. I saw the painful Republican debates and when it came to torture each candidate (McCain, who I hate was not one of them just to be fair) trying to out do the other by promising even more torture except Ron Paul and McCain and where McCain stated he was against torture he was even more blood thirsty than Bush promising interventions all over the world and getting into confrontations against Russia and Iran and wanting to start wars while Paul was a model of grace and wisdom.

So for that reason alone - yes.

With our electronic voting selecting machines, why would he bother?

The Establishment will never let Ron Paul win.

Even without winning, running can still pay dividends. It did last time.

I don't see any other options on the horizon, just more amnesty and support for Israel, all at the cost of our nation's survival.

exactly..i doubt that he's considering another run and i don't believe he'd have anywhere near the support he did last time. too many cynics now including myself.

Should Ron Paul Run for President in 2012?

No, but that shouldn't stop him from asking for money now. By the time '12 rolls around, the dollar will have no value and traitors will be decorating our strongest trees.
