An attacker "went off" on a teen when she resisted sex outside her California high school, according to witnesses, triggering a savage gang rape that left her nearly dead and riveted a shocked America. The girl, described by teachers as a devout Christian too eager to please boys, rebuffed a pushy male outside her homecoming dance, according to the first detailed account of the brutal attack in the San Francisco Chronicle. "They had her down on the bench and the bitch tried to kick" one of the men in the testicles, said a student. "He went off on her, started hitting her, and then it was on. They pulled a train on her," he added, while spectators watched and jeered. When the brutal attack was over, the girl's "face was purple and blue and she wasn't moving," said another student. "I guess those kids thought what they did was was cool. But it was terrible." Teachers and authorities blame a street culture of violence against women, but described the majority of schoolchildren as good kids. "Please tell people we're not animals," said a student.

In recent years, you can see on TV on most any night action movies and series that show women fighting men, taking hard hits and scrapping like prizefighters. It lowers the mental barriers to violence against women. While some might argue that such depictions of women, often 100 pounds or more lighter than their much taller male opponents, shows women in a feminist light as equals and as being combat capable, it does lead in people's minds the idea that men and women actually are equal in physical combat, that women are not entitled to protection, that violence against women is okay.
I know just what you're saying and it's a disservice to women. So are the dopey cans of pepper spray, the whistles, the flashing lights, etc. Such crap is like waving a red flag in front of a raging bull. I tell my women friends to carry and make the first shot count.

I was in a Bible Study group in SOCal when I was stationed at Miramar in 2002. One of the girls in the group was a tiny Chinese girl. Maybe 5 feet at the most. She told us about her ex-husband, a former Marine. They were divorced, but still owned a house together. He was doing the typical psycho ex stuff to her. She went over to the house one day, and found he had taken a masonry saw and sawed all the way round the house, sawing through all the joists, 2x4's, studs, etc. He had also sawed through all the bathtubs, sinks and toilets. For the icing on the cake, he buried an axe in the water heater and written something horror-filmy on the wall, like "You're Next" or "I will kill you". She asked us what she should do, so I told her she needed to buy a gun, become proficient in its use, and carry it everywhere. The other people looked at me like I had just dropped an F-bomb. They then told me I was overreacting. This is why girls like the one in the story get gang raped. A refusal to accept reality. That reality is men will almost always overpower women very easily. I was watching Smallville last night. This show is notorious for women in 3 inch heels beating up muscle bound dudes.

I agree with this advice for adults. However this girl was 15 and even if you're an adult you can't carry on or near schools (which leads to multiple killings on campuses across this nation). Perhaps a personal tazer would have come in handy. I agree that women have a false sense of "empowerment" that backfires. I hear it all the time. Since I'm a little gal who has a CCW, I often advocate this for other women, but often I get the deer in the headlights look or the ol' "I could NEVER shoot anybody........" Some folks are beyond reasoning.
Thing that strikes me is none of the good kids stepped in. They, (and you know who I mean) have passified american males to the extent they would do nothing in the face of this attack. Did you notice that there has been a studied avoidance on the part of MSM to identify the rape victim's race, whereas the suspects' racial background, even though some are minors, have been published? A very perceptive point. Of course the reality is that women are not as physically capable as men which is why throughout human culture the highest ideals of chivalry are for men to protect women. Feminism directly attacked and brutally murdered chivalry. This is the result.
