Poll: Majority Of Republicans Think Obama Didn't Actually Win 2008 Election -- ACORN Stole It!

Eric Kleefeld | November 19, 2009, 12:28PM

The new national poll from Public Policy Polling (D) has an astonishing number about paranoia among the GOP base: Republicans do not think President Obama actually won the 2008 election -- instead, ACORN stole it.

This number goes a long way towards explaining the anger of the Tea Party crowd. They not only think Obama's agenda is against America, but they don't think he was actually the choice of the American people at all! Interestingly, NY-23 Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman is now accusing ACORN of stealing his race, and Fox News personalities have often speculated about ACORN stealing the 2008 Minnesota Senate race for Al Franken.

The poll asked this question: "Do you think that Barack Obama legitimately won the Presidential election last year, or do you think that ACORN stole it for him?" The overall top-line is legitimately won 62%, ACORN stole it 26%.

Among Republicans, however, only 27% say Obama actually won the race, with 52% -- an outright majority -- saying that ACORN stole it, and 21% are undecided. Among McCain voters, the breakdown is 31%-49%-20%. By comparison, independents weigh in at 72%-18%-10%, and Democrats are 86%-9%-4%.

Now, the obvious comparison would be that many Democrats felt that George W. Bush didn't legitimately win the 2000 election. But there are some clear differences.

First of all, Al Gore empirically won the national popular vote in 2000, and lost in a disputed recount process in Florida. By comparison, John McCain lost the national popular vote by a 53%-46% margin.

In order to believe that Obama wasn't the true winner of the 2008 election, one would have to think that ACORN (and perhaps other groups) stuffed ballots to the tune of over 9.5 million votes, Obama's national margin.

PPP communications director Tom Jensen says: "Belief in the ACORN conspiracy theory is even higher among GOP partisans than the birther one, which only 42% of Republicans expressed agreement with on our national survey in September." (1 image)

I have talked to a lot of people who don't like Obama. Never once have I heard that they think he stole the election. I think these pollsters got fooled. They asked a question like that and people said that to screw with them. If I was called and asked that question I would probably answer the way we are told the majority of Republicans answered to that question.

I didn't vote for either party, they are both criminal, murderous frauds.

I just posted the piece because I thought the photo was funny.

The talk about Acorn stealing the election is, in fact, a wild distortion of what Acorn actually did.

As a direct result of some hanky-panky done BY REPUBLICANS in 2000, whereby Republican operatives went door to door to sign up new voters - and then trashed the papers filled out by would-be Democrats, a federal law regulating voter registration drives REQUIRED that EVERY voter application be turned in to the registrar. Now, it's no secret that some a-holes out there might try to fill out a voting application in the name of Mickey Mouse or something like that, so the same law said that, while the canvassers have to turn in EVERY application, if they suspect that an application is fake they still have to turn it in but they can call the registrar's attention to its suspicious qualities. Acorn did that; it registered many thousands of voters and it must have gotten a lot of those fake/joke/nutty applications ... and it dutifully flagged as many as it suspected for the registrars.

The Republicans then used Acorn's own efforts at complying honestly with the law to suggest that Acorn had deliberately registered fake voters. But that isn't true and we don't know for a fact that any of the fakes flagged by Acorn wound up on the voting lists.

Big deal.

The Dim base ranted for years that Bush was "selected, not elected".

They conveniently forget this now that their Messiah has been anointed.

If I was going to get people to vote for my candidate by registering voters. I would only register the people who supported my candidate. If those others want to vote against my candidate then can go register themselves. There is nothing immoral about that. Nothing unlawful either.

ACORN should be defunded and they should have to pay back to the taxpayers all money spent.

You sound like an Obama supporter. Are you?

If you are an Obama supporter, why do you hate the constitution?

Yet you profess to love all things Israel. Why do you love AIPAC and the ADL? They have ties to most of the NGO orgs you love to hate. And the Bushee and the Pubby congresses funded them all, after McCain gave them a vitamin shot in the arm with his Campaign Finance Reform Act.

Or maybe you don't lump them all together. But some people do.

You lump all the other groups together so why not the Jews? Why are they singled out for your special treatment?

The Help America Vote Act (black box voting machines) put the final nail in the voting coffin.

Which is WHY we had the "close" election between Gore and Bush. We know Bush was the chosen to push the Patriot Act. The election numbers and disputed counties don't fit until you realize it was a scam to get the corruptible voting machines. New Mexico, also too close to call election night, had the highest voting error rate at 2%. That is a hell of a lot of votes. They were using the latest in black box machines. So why the push to use those machines. Chads in the disputed counties had considerably lower voting errors than the newest machines. If the machines aren't better then there had to be an ulterior motive for having them.

They are right, he didn't win by actual real votes. Not that McCain would be any better, but Obama didn't win, he was chosen by the elite. McCain didn't win the Republican nomination, he was chosen too. The elite leave no room for surprises, if there number one guy doesn't get it somehow, then there number two guy will.

God is always good!

Third party is the way to go at this point. I'm hoping to make AIP viable. I have to take some people down first.

Try this,www.constitutionparty.com,... and no, we as Americans cannot afford to lump people together because of their color or belief. There is an ongoing war to crush our Constitution . This is now in high gear and the elitists who are in control are in a frenzy to rush this along as fast as possible. And a 3rd party would be the way to gain on this assault. We can not rely on this defunct and dysfunctional 2 party system the media pushes and supports....Rush Limbaughs biggest fear and Sean Hannitys worst nightmare is a powerful 3rd party.....America First..!
