Mike Vick is delusional. He expects a standing ovation in his return to Atlanta.

Mike Vick's brain must have been fried or something while he was in prison, because he's thinking some things about his return to Atlanta this next weekend that just aren't true.

Like this:

"I'm going to get a great reaction from the crowd. It's going to be a standing ovation," he said, smiling. "It's still my city."

Still your city? Remember that time you flicked the fans off? Or that time you murdered dogs and got sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison? Yeah, I'm sure no one remembers that. Or the fact that you couldn't get the team into the playoffs for a long time either. And you sucked at passing. And you lied to Arthur Blank.

Seriously, Mike, if anyone ever deserved a standing ovation, it's you.

Poster Comment:

Is he really delusional?

A white fan comments:

Well, here is the thing. I go to every Falcons game. I still see PLENTY of Vick Falcons jerseys and Vick Eagles jerseys. There will be a LOT of people there to support him. This game sold out shortly after everyone realized he would be here. I expect there to be about a 50-50 split. A lot of boos and a lot of cheers. The cheers may be louder. I expect fights as well. There is a LOT of tension in the city over Vick still. Personally, I didn't like him before we knew he was a criminal. I will be one of the ones booing him just as I did before he left, when he wouldn't put in the work to improve his passing game.

A black fan comments:

Those who think that many people in this city no longer support Mike Vick are delusional. The reality of the matter is that there is STILL a STRONG following for Mike Vick in this city. Some people are still bitter and will not support the team as they once did. As a former ticket holder during the Vick era, I fully support the team now as I did prior to Vick's arrival. Even though the team is winning, the electricity is NOT the same game in and game out. As far as tailgating goes, the crowds are down. Last week was ridiculous. However, this week will be TOTALLY different. Even though MV7 will not play much there will be a host of Falcon and Eagle Vick jerseys in attendance. People are purchasing Vick Eagle Jerseys just for the game. Love him or hate him, the Mike Vick years in Atlanta were electric. The Philly game sold out as soon as Mike was signed. (1 image)

He's a victim of years of social injustice. That and an IQ slightly higher than a watermelon.

Amazingly, in all my years of public education, I never was lectured that fighting and killing dogs was not a good thing.

I corrected your syntax error. No charge.

Let me get this straight.

Obama's health care plan shall be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it, signed by a president who smokes and has no birth certificate, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is overweight and financed by a country that is nearly broke.

Now that he's an Eagle, I get to see him pout on the sidelines every Sunday. Having coached some I can tell you guys like him are locker room cancers. I don't care how talented he is (and he isn't, IMO).

Al Davis was the only coach I know of that had success with a team of total mis-fits and head cases.

There's always a GM somewhere that think they can improve their team with a Vick, or T.O., or that type individual. Seldom does it go well for the team's chemistry.

Yep, Joe Kapp and his band of characters at Minnesota are a distant 2nd.

Thinking of the old days, Landry and Lombardi (RIP) had some characters to deal with, but they were able to get it done and have the rings to prove it.
