That's another fraud perpetrated on Americans. The debt isn't ours, it's the incorporated government's debt. But I'm sure theyll do everything in their power to get us to help pay them back. But, we received nothing from the debt. Hence, we owe nothing.

correct..and they've taken our real money. in reality, we're not paying for anything. we're simply using FRNs (debt instruments) to discharge our legal obligation to pay the debt.

Not to nitpick, but the true national debt is just North of $100 trillion when you include the unfunded liabilities.

The number of citizens in this country is only about 250 million. The rest are illegals. The national debt isn't their problem.

Therefore, your family of five's share of the national debt is a little over $2 million (~$400,000/each).

Send it in.

Might does not make right however. While force may compel actions, that does not mean that the actions it compels are voluntarily assumed. The "well tell that to the armed thug when he shows up" argument never flies well with me, it tries to blur the distinction between compulsion and voluntary.

The FedGov works almost wholly contrary to both the Founders wishes and my wishes, as expressed in the Constitution. As far as I'm concerned we're being ruled by lawless thugs and I "owe" nothing to them. That said, sure, they'll send Officer Friendly out with his Happy Pistol and compel compliance, but that's not the same as me actually owing against a voluntarily assumed debt.

MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

President Obama is going to address this problem in his State of the Union speech.

You are correct. The debt belongs to the U.S. Treasury.

The U.S. Treasury was intentionally separated from the U.S. Government and is a private entity. As such, we don't owe even so much as a penny on that debt.
