Thanks for all that you do to keep this site up and running - tos was about to make my head explode reading the callous, inane, even insane comments on the events of the day.

Kinda speechless about it all.

Y'all think it was bad!

This whole past week, every day starting in early afternoon and running til even midnight, I would be unable to reach almost any site on the internet. I could reach here---but NOT all the time.

I figured there was some backbone or spine problem; and then Katrina. The outfit I get my DSL thru is in Louisiana! So I've tried to be really p-a-t-i-e- n-t (ask Hal just how well I rank in patience!). Today, after pruning back some wild roses, I came in, got pissed, and called my local guys. THey are really good fellas. But neither was available--they actually are phone company people anyways.

So, I just figured what the hell, and called the toll free number back in LA. Got the nicest sounding cajun accented gentleman's voice. I explained what was happening--and what is weird is that my mail is not interrupted. So he says something like, let's play detective. And we went through a bunch of stuff with IE, and then with typing in some alternative preferred and alternative dsn (???) numbers.

Poor Hal.........he's been calling every night this week cause I couldn't get to yahoo or whatever.

Turns out that I apparently have some conflict between all the damned virus programs, firewall programs, bug programs, spyware, programs, and general purpose keep the computer clean programs! Sheesh..........I dunno but what a damned virus wouldn't be better than having a dozen programs to fight the 'unknown'.

But now, it seems I can get to all the places I want to go on the internet--- and then some.

NOW, for the kicker.........I was so deelighted that it was working I tried to get into 4um this afternoon! About the third time I tried, after clearing the 'blue air', I remembered Neil was doing an upgrade! :(

Oh my, and that's just for starters.
