LP Members... Bet you all were wondering what happened to LP over the weekend. So were we. We just got some really bad news from our service provider. The company our provider contracts shared space with, "Host Remote" is going belly up. A new company (name unknown at this time) in Pennsylvania will be coming in to take it over, and they are requiring a lot more money, a firm contract for X years, and other sundry items some time around 12-5 to 12-7. What does that mean for LP??? Since we are not a business, it means we have to scramble FAST to find a new service provider, or go dark for a time in order to get back up again. We've been told it's cheaper and faster to lease space on another server, called "cloud" computing rather than have our own server (which we own). We are now running in vastly expanding circles trying to find a place to port LP and data. We have another problem (HUGE)...we need to pay our bill with our current provider, and need about $1500 over and above that for new start up expenses. This is a real challenge. While under these poor economic conditions, and the upcoming holidays, we need to ask you for money. We need $3000 no later than Saturday Morning. Why then? Because the people who have been hosting our server will be going into the locked secure data center to clean out all the servers currently hosted there. We will go dark sometime on Saturday if they can gain access to the room to remove the server. If not, Saturday, we will go dark on Monday 12/7/09 for certain. That won't be good, because it means our server will still be at the data center, locked away by the new provider. I would love to be able to tell you how long LP will be dark. Since we just got notified this morning of these events, I've been on the phone trying to get more details. Our priorities are: 1. Pay our bill in full 2. Retreive our server 3. Backup all data on the server to a remote location 4. Have startup funds for new host 5. Find a new location to plug into, or 5a. Find a server to upload LP on to 6. Restart I can give you info on 1 through 3 as it occurs. Item 4 is up to LP members who want to see LP back online. The Bottom Line is $3000. Any less and we are dead in the water. I am unemployed (again), so I cannot provide funds this time to bail LP out: I'm living on unemployment. [Last time, I used nearly $1500 personal funds to get us back up and running.] Items 5 and 6 will be updated when changes occur on the below noted website: www.freewebs.com/lpstatus

Something's fishy about this. Christine never asks for money. How could it possibly cost 3 grand to keep a website running? I wonder how much of that would go to 'administration costs'?
The hypocrit couple are badmouthing posters again? Well, look at it this way, it keeps them off the street and from horning in on much of Yukon's turf at LP. Where else can you find someone saying they support the ideals of a constitutional candidate while using every alienation technique in the book to try to make sure that candidate and his supporters never see the light of election day.
I never even go there to check out the content ...too many Israel firsters. Therefore, anyone regularly participating on the site is either part of the problem we now find ourselves in, or too stupid to know they are part of the problem
It seems like an obsession, perhaps its due to your age???? My threads concerning LP are a minority of the threads that I post on this site as an easy search proves. However, you are right that I like to get a dig in on Moldi-Box and the members of LP whenever the opportunity arises, if for no other reason than I know that it pisses you off to know end. It's even more enjoyable knowing that you cannot do anything about it except whine.

Well the person I originally posted my comments to fits that description to a tee. I quit posting there back when she banned Ron Paul threads. Or should I say I quit making serious posts there. I do still go there and read the articles and comments though I will refrain from going into detail on my other activities.

Who is this we you speak of? Do you have a mouse in your pocket or are you just playing with yourself? You speak for no one but yourself. YOU are tired of it. Obviously others aren't because there are quit a few comments on the thread and not a one of them (except for yours) is a complaint about the content. I know this will come as shock to you given that you think so highly of yourself, but I don't care what you are tired of. Not even a little bit. You are free not to click on the link to the thread. No one is forcing you to read this thread or any other. If I find something happening on LP that I think is of interest to people here, I will post it up until Christine asks me not to.

There are quite enough threads on those topics. We know what's going on around us. We read about it all day, day and day out. There is absolutely nothing wrong with posting threads which lighten the mood by changing the subject. What may be a paramount interest to you may in fact be a burden to others. Each and every day brings world news of importance and interest to any thinking person. What LP does is not of interest and when it becomes the main spam of the day, good people leave, and that I do not like. It should be perfectly clear to you by now but it seems no manner of reasoning has any effect. Just leave LP to LP, you, Pete or whoever and all will be fine.

No. I wish I could post private PM of people that have left, good people that contributed, people that got tired of the LP spam day after day. People that have been here a long time. If you were an open minded person you would look at people that are missing totally or seldom post. All you have to do is look at names that are seldom or never seen.
