President Barack Obama may be swimming against the tide of public sentiment in ordering more troops to Afghanistan.

A new poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press and the Council on Foreign Relations – results of which are set to be released Thursday — found that isolationist sentiment in the U.S. is at the highest level since the polling outfit and its predecessors began to measure such sentiment in 1964.

Andrew Kohut, president of the Pew Center, said the number of Americans who said the U.S. should go its own way and not worry about other countries was higher than during either the Vietnam or Iraq wars. He declined to divulge specific figures, but said a record number of people also said the U.S. should mind its own business and let other countries get on the best they can.

“We have these long-term measures showing the public looking more inward than they have for a very, very long period of time,” said Kohut. He cited two protracted wars and deep economic woes as factors behind the sentiment.

The Pew Center and the Gallup polling group have posed similar questions aimed at gauging isolationist sentiment every four years, in the first year of each presidential term, since Lyndon Johnson took the White House.

That was the opinion of the majority in the 1930s, until the Jews and Roosevelt sold out America.

Well, a Pearl Harbor type event, will always get the sheep bleating for retribution and WAR!

It's really saddening, Cyni, it really and truly is.

It's really saddening,

That Jew SOB Roosevelt use to go on the radio and guarantee American Mothers, "I will NEVER send American boys to fight in a foreign war". I can still hear it in my ears Lod.

My Father would yell at the radio, "You lying SOB".

My Father would yell at the radio, "You lying SOB".

My father used to tell me about hearing him say that too.

Now I remember Obama on TV not much more than 1 month ago, telling the troops:

"I will never rush the solemn decision of sending you into harm's way," ... "I won't risk your lives unless it is absolutely necessary." and I knew then it was a done deal.

Roosevelt hustled the American people in 1940 and I see not much difference with Obama.

The death toll mounts weekly, and the people worry about the price of gold.

Cyni -

They are inter-related.

The more that we piss away on our welfare/warfare state with fiat currency, the more that the price of metals will rise in value.

They cannot be separated, as long as the Fed is with us.
