Al-Qaida, if such an organization may actually be said to exist as anything more than a sprawling, loosely articulated collection of hyper-zealous, anti-American Muslims, does not need Afghanistan to plan and mount attacks against the United States and U.S. allies.

I've often thought the same thing. It's like saying we have to declare war on Iowa because there is a "hate group" there. As if they somehow are superglued to the corn in Iowa and can't just go to another state or something.

We're all smart enough to figure this out. And we're all smart enough to know that Barry, like George before him, like Bill before him, etc. are professional liars. Whatever the reasons are for the U.S. sending more troops to Afghanistan, you can rest assured they have nothing to do with what Barry said.

MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

Which brings me back again, empty-handed, to the puzzling question I posed at the start: what is Obama thinking?

He's thinking about repaying his campaign contributors.

He's thinking about making money on war.

He's thinking about keeping a large contingent of young men busy and in another country, rather than bringing them home while our nation is in deep discontent.

He's thinking about keeping in position to rush to the aid of Israel at any given moment.

He's thinking about wasting more money to bring about a pre-planned collapse of the dollar because this nation can't repay its debts or future obligations.
