Tis me. Thank you for the like.

New Dress is a weird tune. It's in 4/4 but sounds like it's not.

What a pedigree.

True...

My pedigree is, I know Charlie the local drunk and I am able to play the radio.

No one trusts me.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ... We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." Edward Bernays, Father of Public Relations

You are too kind, my friend.

BTW, the guy playing lead guitar on these songs is only about 18 years younger than you are. Truth.

like them...

I enjoy both tunes quite a lot; reminds me of John Hiatt's "Slow Turning", one of my all-time favorite road-tapes. Thank you!

I'm not gonna lie. Too pop for my taste. I prefer my bluegrass straight and unadulterated.

Born agin', I am.

Not to discourage -- I'd much rather listen to it than 98% of what's on the radio or tee-vee.

And anyway I'm sure it could be used to reduce crime. ;)

The vocals, bass, and tempo stick out to me and remind me very much of some pop group whose name I can't recall at the moment. Counting Crows?

I like it straight too, but since I kinda grew up with it...well, you know how it goes.

I'm always open to new marketing ideas. : )

There's a small business near downtown that plays nothing but Wagner on its external speakers all night long to keep the riff-raff from hanging out. It works.

Ya ever hear this one? Doc Watson, Tony Rice and Norman Blake all on one guitar piece:

Lost Indian

Thanks for the comments, bubba.

That's a VERY nice song. A smiling song. Happy, not ecstatic. Energetic, but not hyper. A "good day" song.

I have a version by Don Reno & Red Smiley. I think I like this one here a little better.

And with Audio Hijack it is now mine. Mine!

Energetic, but not hyper.

Jerusalem Ridge hits the same place in the minor. Just my two denarii but in 50 years, the era of late 20th American bluegrass and its offshoots will be perceived as American blues began to be in the 1950's and 60's.

Audio Hijack

I miss my Macbook. Best damn tool of the 21st century thus far.

poets who cant sing or play, players who cant sing, singers who cant play, people with song ideas but no clue about songwriting, constructive (hopefully) criticism of songs, lyric suggestions, people with ideas about complete overhauls...

...all those people could post their ideas, and maybe, if the ideas turn someone on, they can be incorporated into a real song.

or maybe not.

doesnt make much difference to me, because i'm liable to keep posting songs as long as i'm able, but it might be an interesting experiment.

it boils down to this: if it's good music, it never lets you down... and it's my opinion that we dont have much else to look forward to.
