Looks like one of America's mainstream media (CNN) has ruled out the Iraq war as being one for oil, but Blitzer seems to be shying away from the real reason for the US-led attack and the ouster of Saddam (discussing the US being the biggest loser in the weekend auction by Iraq of its oil rights). (full story at link) On same site also check out the review of Sniegoski's Transparent Cabal book by the Chistisons. Also note that Stephen Walt will be on radio on Thursday.

Oil was never the prime factor, it was Israel from day one. Those that believe it was oil should address our war in Afghanistan and a developing war in Pakistan, plus our daily whining about Iran. Israel is not about to mount any war in the ME and shed their own blood. It remains, Iran may have a bomb and Pakistan has 75, the only Muslims to do so.
Steven Walt's and Mesherschmidt (sp) book, The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy, shows clearly that oil was a bit player at best in the road to middle east war. Zionist Israel was the driver of the whole sorry thing. And now millions of Americans are essentially broke largely because of it, and worse than that, as the Bush neocons put the cost of the wars on the US credit card, the massive expense of this folly is yet to come due. Now Obama seems to have been captured by the same forces that have led, or misled, the US down this path of arrogant foolish folly.

OIL... Oil if not pumped and sold to the world causes starvation in the major producing countries. Rough sledding at times but hunger brings people around. ON the other hand, knowledge that your enemy can, and fear he might, wipe you off the map in an hour becomes paramount at all time.
Saddam was selling US and everyone else Iraq's oil at market prices up to the day Amerisrael invaded.

Iraq just auctioned off two large fields for drilling a few days ago. They know it is sell oil or starve. Iran produces huge amounts of oil but does not refine its own gasoline. The US is committed to furnish all of Israels oil needs in case they get shut off from world markets...for any reason... AT OUR EXPENSE. The Jews cannot buy Iran or Paki A bombs so they send Americans to do their dirty work.

But of course. US strategic oil reserves would, indeed, go to Israel first. Isn't that just magic?
