I have been a law-abiding citizen all my life. I’ve always played by the rules. That is about to change. The early morning passage of the Senate health care bill on Thursday requires every American to purchase health insurance. I refuse. I will not abide by this bill if it is passed into law. And if the government levies a fine, I will not pay it. I’ve had enough.

There comes a time when a line in the sand must be drawn. I’ve just drawn mine. I’ve listened to the outright lies our politicians have spouted in order to pass this legislation, which, by the way, has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with government control.

Democrats declared this bill was deficit neutral. Not so, says the Congressional Budget Office. Alas, this wasn’t reported until minutes after the bill passed the Senate

Dems say this bill will allow an additional 30 million people to be covered while not affecting prices. Helloo….this goes contrary to the very basic law of supply and demand.

I’ve had enough of the back door deals, the outright bribes, the lies, the rush, and the absolute arrogance of our elected officials who patronizingly tell me with a straight face that black is white and if I questions their wisdom, why I must be a loony tea-bagger who doesn’t believe in the rule of gravity. Enough!!

I know the rule of law is essential to the health of a society and this sometimes requires a small loss of individual freedom for the greater good. We have a system of government now, however, that is imposing two different sets of rules. One set for Americans who pay the freight, and another system for government and union officials, politicians and rent seekers. When a country has two rules of law, it essentially has no rule of law.

Since our much vaunted ‘free press’ hasn’t deigned to inform Americans about the basics involved in this health care bill, I’ll touch on a couple goodies you might not be aware of:

First, the bill declares that certain sections of it can’t be repealed by future Congresses. Meaning we the people will no longer be able to vote or amend it. This is rule by fiat.

Secondly, this bill will impose a mandatory, Mandatory, fee of app. $15,000 on many families. That’s a cool 15K you’ll have to take out of your budget if you’re not covered by employer health insurance. And its just too bad if you don’t have a job.

I could go on… suffice to say, this American knows there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that allows the federal government to force me to purchase something I don’t want, need or agree with. Call me uncompassionate, but as a matter of principle, I refuse to pay for some-else’s abortion, botox treatment or transgender surgery. And I refuse to let the government impose an unconstitutional mandate on me.

I refuse on the grounds that I am an American who has the right to decide what is best for myself and my family. I will not be coerced by posturing, rent seeking politicos who are misusing the powers we the people granted them. Enough!

I’m tired of being patronized by moral hucksters who pander to the lowest among us as they use my money to buy votes from deadbeats. I’m tired of being lied to. I’m tired of having my voice ignored. I’m tired of having my money used to support causes with which I disagree. I’ve had enough.

This is my line in the sand. I vow I will not allow one cent of my hard earned money to be used to further this socialist redistribution scheme. I refuse to participate. I will not be forced to pay for anything to do with this fraudulent bill. And I refuse to pay any fines that might be imposed. And taking a cue from the Democrats, I officially declare this debate over.

Of course when the prisons get full then where to? I'd say the "camps," but those don't exist, remember.

Of course not. How silly.

If you look at Pelosi's fiscal workings on the House bill, you'll note there is a huge amount of money budgeted to come in from "penalities". Hmmm, wonder why they got the IRS on it. The IRS rarely goes for jail time.

But, its still cheaper to pay the $750 fine, go uninsured, then buy it when you get hit by a truck since they can't exempt pre-existing conditions.

Is the $750/family, or individual, do you know?

Per individual if my read on things is correct.

But look longer-term. If everyone plays the "I'll just pay the fine and buy when I have a $50k bill" then the insurance companies go belly up and THEN they can say "Golly, it broke. We need pure Government healthcare."

...and get away with it...

I buy things because they're useful and have utility, not because someone tells me I need to.

We are in the last stage of entry into a command and control economy. Soon you will be mandated to purchase various items. All of it will be in the name of the "public good" or "fairness" which is the rallying cry of dictators everywhere.

Currently, the proposals for health insurance are of the "one size fits all" variety, sort of like a Union Plan which costs members upwards of $1k/month for coverage they can't use.

Thus, the insurance companies love this kind of regulation. Everyone gets a Cadillac policy at an outrageous rate they are forced by law to pay for.

However, like every good Central Politburo Plan, they make errors every time which can be gamed to your advantage.

There were no good things in East Germany. It/life sucked there.

They had free medical care, free education, and guaranteed jobs for everyone.

It was a workers' paradise. What is there not to like about that if you're an Obamaton?

I suppose perspective matters, and I know people personally that preferred it.

I know people who think they would prefer it. Their claim is that if the "right people" are in charge, the Stasi will not come to power.

I, of course, beg to differ with the Secret Police assessment.

In this country, there are tons of people, many in the ghettos, that would prefer to have everything handed to them on a daily basis and as long as they have the absolute basics, apparently wouldn't care.

Yes there are, but those days are rapidly coming to a close.

America was built on people fending for themselves, now it's laden with namby-pamby types that wouldn't know how to fend for themselves if it came to a do-or-die decision. Which is likely coming BTW, so if you're white, get ready to be blamed for that shit too!

The days of institutional racism and "blame whitey" are coming to an end as well.

Whitey is no longer interested in buying off anyone else. He also is not going to be interested in rebuilding Detroit or Watts if they are burned to the ground by angry folk looking for a handout.

Those who cannot fend for themselves will shortly find themselves doing without as the Government goes broke. Sure, they will first turn to banditry, but the Code of Hammurabi rules when the Government is broke. That goes for ghetto dwellers of all types and colors.

Look at the folks who banded together in NOLA after Katrina. "Drunks with Guns" signs warning looters off.

Expect more of that. The ghetto dwellers who marinate themselves in a cocktail of blame and greed will be among the first to die due to their own inability to save themselves. Waiting for the welfare check, when it doesn't arrive or arrives in a reduced form, will lead to slow starvation.

Let the UN and Red Cross come in and accept them as refugees and resettle them elsewhere. The Feds will be broke and powerless.

Remember, in large cities, there is no such thing as a gated community and most urban dwellers (like -oh- banksters) don't own guns and are in fact opposed to them.

you forgot to mention hundreds of thousands of troops roaming around committing genocide

There will not be enough money to pay them. Besides, more than 2/3 of all troops are "supply and maintenance" so you can cut your troop estimates by that much.

Really, supply depot folks are not going to be doing garrison duty.

Occupying a continent is expensive and they do not have the money to do it with. While your concerns are understandable, they are impossible to carry out so there is nothing to worry about.

Be more worried that the welfare checks will bounce.

I told people in 1999 that we'd be where we are today, though, I thought it would take root roundabout 2001 or so. The housing bubble was a nice delaying tactic.

Just remember this - Government produces nothing. It must borrow what it wants or extract it via taxation. The borrowing is coming to a close and the extraction via taxation is coming to a close as well.

No money, no occupation. The Romans learned that a long time ago and it should have been a lesson retained from history by students.
