Yikes. Thank God mine are still flowing. It's about 7 degrees here and I don't know what the WCI is. I'm on surgical recovery and sorta trapped here. Without running water and utils, it would be even more maddening.

Hopefully there won't be any bursting.

#5. To: Samuel Gray, christine, frozen people here (#3)

Like a goose, I waited until yesterday afternoon to shop for hose-bid covers - I don't believe that there are any left in Austin.

So I dripped all the exterior faucets and so far so good; but it's forecast to drop down to 20 tonight.

Yowser!

(joke)

I see some of us have running water, Cyni.

They'd last a day in PA :P

Lord, I hope not. Taps were all frozen this a.m. and no H2O for the little lady to take a shower. 16 degrees here this morning. Never seen anything like it. Forecast 20 tonight and 25 for Sunday overnight. Lows should be back in the 30s for Monday night.

All my faucets are dribbling now and I have an outside spigot with icicle hanging from it. Looks like the pipe split. Hope we make it through the weekend here without any damage. Got the fireplace on and the furnace up high enough to roast chestnuts. Brrrr. Sick of it.

Try Montana in the winter - when the daytime high is -15 and you think of that as a "warm-up". (Of course that is why I DON'T live there and am not inclined to move back.)

Although Montana really does have 4 seasons:

Almost Winter
Winter Still Winter
And
Road Construction.
