Air Supply - Goodbye classic 70's rock ballads

I can see the pain living in your eyes
And I know how hard you try
You deserve to have so much more
I can feel your heart and I sympathize
And I'll never criticize
All you've ever meant to my life

I don't want to let you down
I don't want to lead you on
i don't want to hold you back
From where you might belong

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to say but goodbye

You deserve the chance at the kind of love
I'm not sure i'm worthy of
Losing you is painful to me

I don't want to let you down
I don't want to lead you on
i don't want to hold you back
From where you might belong

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to say but goodbye

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to try
Though it's gonna hurt us both
There's no other way than to say goodbye

Poster Comment:

If you like certain videos on youtube or just about any other site and have the storage space on your computer you should consider downloading them. youtube has a rather nasty habit of deleting certain ones, or denying access to them. I found this out the hard way when it got to the point I couldn't access about half of the stuff I had marked as favorite. I don't know what else is available but I use KeepVid to download videos. It is very simple and easy.

This is true, keep vid is what I use if I like the video and it looks like it might get the axe because of an issue like copyright.

I believe there are two quality levels one can save the video at too.

You're welcome. I don't know if you misunderstood but you don't keep them on the keepvid site, it is a site that downloads videos to your computer. Very handy.

Several of the Enigma vids are no longer available.

While they may not have been appropriate for family viewing, they were so hot, they absolutely smoked.

I don't think their actions have anything to do with appropriateness or lack thereof. There was a wonderful tribute to the Ice Road Truckers on there with the Falling Inside The Black song. They deny access to it now. Fortunately I had it saved.

I don't see how a copy for personal use is much of an issue.

let's hope the deathwish christians emerge triumphant in the american government.

then you wont have anything at all to worry about.

meanwhile, how do you reconcile your christian values with theft of intellectual property?

the whole thing is ridiculous, anyhow.

who in their right mind would bother with stealing john denver and air supply in the first place... in mono, no less.

interesting also that that first john denver song you posted includes the line "it turns me on to think of growing old"

john wasnt turned on quite enough to avoid nosediving his airplane into the ocean, was he?

The FBI kidnapped me as a young lad of 18 when I was on a truck carring food to the Wounded Knee Trading post occupation back inthe early 1970s from Eugene. I had helped gather it as part of the then Eugene Coalition Liberation Support Movement and wanted some adventure beyond gathering canned and other goods going from door to door. I didn't have my then picture-less paper driver's license from Oregon and other ID, and looked two years younger then 18 so they assumed I was lying.

They figured out I was indeed 18 and released me stranded in the middle of the U.S. and I had to phone home to Mom for a Greyhound ticket.

I agree, the FBI are sadistic and capible of any torture. And if anyone doubts having to phone home to be rescued from being stranded at 18 is torture, I would doubt they were human and had been 18 once.

Mike -

I have known you for about twelve years over the Internet. Your cracked-upped yarn has me guessing that you just lied.

I was given last rites at birth. I was born not expected to live and spent a month in an incubator. She was 18 and kids who have kids don't smother babies. Especially in 1954.

She had been one of my Dad's students, getting her pilot's license at 16, and at that time was Connecticut's youngest female aviator.

It would of been interesting to have seen that world through older eyes in a world where my Dad was a veteran Navy fighter pilot who had flown in the Pacific Theater.

You bait with no consideration for people or context. Which is an indicator of your problem; you don't think. Andf you are arrogant, and only value what you have to say or how you feel.

I suppose your aim is to make me hate you, but I don't.

I just feel sorry for you, and hope you wise up someday. Cheers.

Well, there was poetic license taken. But it sounds like you figured out that sometimes the truth is still the truth, but some of it must always be altered in minor ways to protect the innocent. ;-)

I am questioning that your denial of truth is the same of my own spirit of truth. Mike, don't compromise me. I have always enjoyed your spirited debate. You are refreshing. You bring ideas to a forum that are welcomed. But in all cases and as a recommendation, don't compromise values.

Heh, the only part that was not quite right was I got home on my own. I was a long haired youth in a time hitching was common. ;-)

You really think I would call my mom? She was still pissed about my activities which included helping to illegally occupy the storefront next to Vision Works printing to make room for food to go to South Dakota.

I had come from a nothing happens ever Clinton, Connecticut and was really enjoying the activist community in Eugene, Oregon.

I had done some anti war demonstations in Connecticut, but it was a whole different world out here.

I saw cops clubbing people with axe handles at demonstrations at the University of Oregon and met some memorable people. That sure was the life back then. Ah, to be 18 oncew more.

What women I could of had back then with what I know now.

On a contemporary basis, my long blonde hair flows over my shoulders. And I have a gray haird beard. Still, I don't compromise values. In the corporate world values backed by fact is the only meaningful and market skill, today.
