Title: Why AFP Would Endorse Jim Traficant for Congress

Jim Traficant is unlike any other politician in this country today. Traficant actually talks about the U.S. Constitution and what it means and why (and how) it’s being ignored. He says that the tax system needs to be overhauled, that the IRS needs to be (and can be) eliminated and that a new tax system can supply all the revenue America needs to function without raping the taxpayers every April 15.

Jim also says that the Federal Reserve System isn’t federal— that it’s the creation of and controlled by international bankers and financial institutions that have no loyalty to America or the American people—and that the Fed needs to be abolished. He openly challenges the influence of the Israeli lobby—and other well-heeled lobbies and interests—in official Washington. Jim thinks it’s time that America bring its troops home from policing the world and engaging in fruitless and unnecessary foreign wars and put them to work protecting America’s borders and sovereignty from waves of illegal immigrants and potential enemies. Jim is someone who says things that need to be listened to and AMERICAN FREE PRESS is proud to place itself foursquare behind Jim’s efforts to get the word out. That’s why we’re hoping you’ll be planning to come to Washington—along with many other Americans from across the country—and to hear what Jim has to say. Spread the word through letters, cards, email and phone calls to all people you think would be interested. All people of good will are invited to attend. IDEA: Charter a bus and bring a group of patriots to D.C. from your home town!

Traficant likes a flat tax or national sales tax, no?

What I would like to see in a candidate is one who wants to return to the original financing method, tariffs and duties.

In order to get there and stay there, we need to repeal BOTH the 16th and 17th amendments, plus the federal reserve act. Most know about the 16th amendment, being the income tax, and the federal reserve act, but the 17th is not such an obvious problem.

The 17th amendment changed the wording of article 1, section 3 of the Constitution which declared that senators were to be selected by the states' legislatures. Senators were now to be elected by the people thereof. This effectively removed the state's representation in DC.

The excuse for this treasonous amendment was that the selective process was becoming politicized and corrupt at the state level, and some state legislatures were failing to select senators in a timely manner.

So big freeking deal! If a legislature doesn't do its job, it only hurts that state. Let them suffer the consequences of their own action or inaction.

Instead, they made the entire nation pay for actions of a few. Or did they intentionally use it as an excuse to take another step toward enslaving all of us? It is alleged that William Randolph Hearst play an important role in convincing the sheople that they should elect the senators. Funny how that Hearst name comes up a lot when discussing globalism, nwo, false flag terrorism, etc.

Under the original federal revenue scheme, congress paid the bills out of what was collected in tariffs and duties. When there was a shortfall, they sent the bill to the states. The states then had to raise the money to pay the bill.

If the people of the state did not like paying the bill, they could call on their neighbor, who happened to be their state legislator and read him a riot act. After all, the legislator helped select the senator that had allowed DC to overspend...

The whole system provided for a nice chain of accountability. Washington overspends with the approval of congress and the senate. The people can hold their congress person accountable by voting him out of office. The state can hold the senator accountable by recalling him and selecting another. The people can hold the state legislature accountable for not controlling their senators by not reelecting the legislators that enabled the senator in the first place.

In order to rig our "new and improved" system, established by the 17th, you have to own a majority of congress and a majority in the senate, plus a president.

In order to rig the old "faulty" system, you had to own a majority in congress, a majority in the majority of the state legislatures and then a president. It was much more difficult and much more expensive under the old system.

A whole shit pile of corruption and treason was enabled by the 17th amendment since it ensures that federal power can be bought and sold with virtually no accountability.

This is an overly simplified and fractured argument here, but someday I am going to find a half a day to really write a decent essay on the subject.

And I would agree. The Seventeenth amendment was a major upset of the checks and balances in our Feral Government. It was sold with a populist coating but with malevolent intent. The State Legislatures were not as easily susceptible to the influence of money in large campaigns. Someone campaigning on a Statewide basis is to no small degree at the mercy of donors. The entire point of having Senators chosen by the legislatures was to isolate them from the hurly burly of retail politics and to form a deliberative body which could act as a check on populist impetuousity arising in the House of Representatives - which was set up as "the Peoples House". It also ensured that the interests of the States were actively represented.
