Well, one can certainly lead the Fox brainwashed to protest, but you can't teach them to think too. It something entirely different to call for an armed insurrection, but some of these folks just understand the end does not justify the means. Protest, regardless of the quarter it comes from, is as American as apple pie, but calling for armed insurrection is ignorant.

i guess the best thing to do is study the resistance movements that we're seeing today, although it's gonna be hard to find one that's not polluted by israeli american money. there exists the bare possibility that people will rally around decency... but they seem mostly to go the other way when things get bad.

but having observed vietnam firsthand, it seems to me that, whatever other faults they had, the vietnamese nationalists were more nearly decent than the american puppets. so we lost the support of the common people, and that was the end of that.

Yep, being in office and having to mind the vested interest does nothing for impartial adherence to the principles that gave birth to our revolution and helped draft the U.S. Constitution when the Articles of Confederation proved to be unworkable. Back in the day of 'muck rakers' like Drew Pearson and Jack Anderson and others that did commentary that worked to try to keep politicos honest rather then to work their own ideological bend, we as a nation were allot better off. The news pundits have forgotten that people need to understand the common base we all have that creates national cohesion and commonality of purpose and to know the difference of that from politicians acting to serve their own interests and interests of those who have bought them off. We as a nation really have allot of work to do if we ever want this country to survive to the end of this century in one piece.

I used the word corruption intentionally, because that is the problem with the National party. That said, the point about the enormous amounts of gun and ammunition sales is key here. They haven't been bought only to surrender if Madame Pelosi deems them unlawful. Listening carefully to Bob Basso's faux conservatism, and noting that Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter are tea partiers should be our first clues. Yes, these tea partiers will point guns at Americans who refuse to toe the line on the war. The Federal Reserve pays for their big weapons systems projects and funds America's 700 military bases around its global empire. These American imperialists will not give up the Fed, they will not give up the war, and they will not give up Israel. They won't even give up on putting illegals into the American military to fight our so-called enemies abroad. Any "change" that comes out of the Tea Parties will not change anything of substance. We may have new faces in D.C. but they'll still be members of AIPAC.
So, you don't like the original intent of the Second Amendment, Mike? If so, you and the rest of the Daily Kos nanny staters can opt out.
