This is not about whether Senator Elect Scott Brown from Massachusetts is a Christian. This is between him and his Maker. These are just a few thoughts about the fruit on his tree that Jesus tells us to inspect. (Matthew 7:15-20)     

• Brown calls Roe v. Wade “the law of the land.” NO IT IS NOT! Judges by definition cannot make law. I don’t care if they say their rulings are law. Legislatures make laws. The Tenth Amendment movement should have started the day after Roe was handed down in 1973. Roe only ever had the force of law because a lot of Americans gave it such weight. Brown says he will not seek to overturn Roe, something the legislative branch has the power to do under Article 3, Section 2 of the Constitution.
• Brown supported Romneycare in Massachusetts, which, among other things, forced most Chowds to buy health insurance. Less than 24 hours after he was elected he told a press conference: "We're past campaign mode: I think it's important for everyone to get some form of health care ... So to offer a basic plan for everybody I think is important." Jesus only ever initiated force once: when He kicked the money changers out of the Temple. He never initiated force to achieve a political or social goal or said that His followers should do likewise. There is nothing Christlike about mandating a health care program.
• In his victory speech, Brown said, “And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation -- they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime.” He is correct. The Constitution does not “grant rights.” The Constitution acknowledges and guarantees rights that are gifts from God and that exist even without a written constitution.

  This war was never officially declared by Congress, as the Constitution requires, so no official state of war exists. The Fifth Amendment starts with the words “No person” and goes on to say “nor shall any person”. Hence it extends to all people. The Sixth Amendment starts with the words “In all criminal prosecutions...” Likewise, it extends to all people.

   Consider Deuteronomy 19:15: “One witness is not enough to convict a man accused of any crime or offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”

   Read it! It says “any crime or offense.” That includes terrorism.

   God gives us all these rights. They are inherent in our humanity. And if you will disregard the rights of people accused of terrorism, don’t come crying to me when your rights are disregarded some day. What goes around comes around.

  One more thing: are there any other categories of people to whom Scott Brown thinks the Constitution does not "grant rights"?

• Brown supports trade sanctions on Iran. Oh now this is Christian: pick a country that hasn’t done anything to us, strangle its trade, and inflict hardship, suffering, starvation and death on countless people who have done nothing to you. But wasn’t Brown the “lesser of two evils”? The Bible tells us to “hate what is evil.” (Romans 12:9) Millions of Christians have been so conned and manipulated that they have disregarded all Christian morality in the name of temporal political gain. “What shall it profit a man…?” (Matthew 16:26) Either vote for a candidate from a non-privileged party or don’t vote at all. Better this than to put one’s blessing on evil. Get out of Babylon! (Revelation 18:4)

We need to fear God’s Judgment more than we fear Democrats.

I have been told not to “judge” Scott Brown. I am not doing that at all. However, based on his history, he is no one that a Christian should trust with political power.

Paul called it right in II Timothy 4:3-4: “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
