Japan's new government is terminating military support for the Afghan war by ending refueling of US vessels in the Indian Ocean but will continue economic assistance inside Afghanistan. Japan has pledged to contribute up to $5-billion in aid to the region over the next five years.

As good as putting a match to the money for all the good it will do after Karzai gets his corrupt paws on it. Shish! I thought the Japanese had more common sense.

Japan just trying to remain on the good side of US, what with need for trade and negotiations to get US forces out of Okinawa. Same as Canada's Liberals, not going into Iraq despite intense Jew lobbying, but continuing in Afghanistan.

It's not a bad move on the part of Japan with all of its surplus US dollars. By staying out of the fighting and instead developing facilities, roads (under which Taliban can put IED's) Japanese have a better chance of being accepted in the future in business dealings than the idiot countries that are killing Afghanis.
