If he's trying to further his career, he's going about it the wrong way, that's for sure. It's hard for me to put a finger on what' up with this guy. For a moment there, he reminded me of one of those WWF wrestlers shittalking up a storm. Like a braying donkey or someone banging cymbals. I'm not sure what his motive is sometimes, but know what his message results in much of the time... fear. So, I don't know, I don't like to draw hasty conclusions. I found the video to be somewhat shockingly surreal.

I too think he was there to get footage for his next flick.
Maybe it's just that simple and he's just that shallow. A stupid megalomaniac. You're insightful. I hope you're wrong about the shit hitting the fan though. I have a feeling the future will be miserably boring. Like it's always been. ;-)

It has taken a long time for a lotta people to see through this ahole.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. .... He was wrong and if he knew in advance that those folks were going to be there, and he was invited by them to speak ... he owes them an apology.
This is not the time to fragment the resistance to tyranny.
Alex Jones is quite obviously not interested in resisting tyranny. He's interested in feeding his ego and his bank account. I've been telling you people for a couple years now that Jones is a phony.
You still take him seriously after this? Sheesh, what will it take to, uh what's that phrase... oh yeah, "wake you up" to the "truth" about Alex Jones?

This is not the time to fragment the resistance to tyranny.
Now is the perfect time to "fragment the resistance to tyranny."
A unified resistance can be destroyed anytime they want to destroy it. The more fragmentation, the harder is for them to control us.
Why do you think that "lone wolves" scare them so badly?
We are unified, but only in purpose, not behind a leader that is either a traitor, and/or a ego maniacal sociopath, and/or just an asshole. It doesn't matter what he is, it's not good.

I bet you got the same reactions I got. You can prove it to them, but they never deal in proof but emotions. You can show the lies, but they won't ever admit it.
Please listen to the last 5 mins of Alex's show where he comments about the protest. I'd like your opinion on what he had to say.
Pretty rich--in the first five minutes he was talking about Glenn Beck "selling us out." I wonder what he would call someone who sabotaged a rally he was sponsoring.

Bingo.
But where are the Washingtons, Madisons, Jeffersons .........? Nothing on the horizon but greedy plutocrats, and/or power hungering pols ... no clear headed men of integrity. My God, look, if you can stand it, at our last four presidents.

I realize that accepting the truth about Alex Jones is very hard for people who put their trust in him.
What puzzles me is that some people have been unable - stubbornly unable - to see what a joke Alex Jones is.
Well, if you had told me when I first started to check these conspiracy things out, I would not have believed you either. Although I would have kept it in the back of my mind for later. That was a rather hectic period in my life.
I don't know. I think they see it, like I started to see it. I think they have an emotional investment in him and a weird sense of personal loyalty and that keeps them from taking it to the next level.

Sounds like his mind is gone and ain't comin' back. I am referring to what he said about when he was in Waco and looking toward some parking garage with a cop/sniper, 100 yards away (or so he said) and even though by his own admission there were several hundred people there, this cop had his weapon "trained on me." I call bs on that. How would anyone know from a 100 yards who a cop had sighted in when there is a crowd of people?

Or maybe I'm completely off base. I don't know.
The faith people have placed in Alex Jones is no different than the faith people place in phony televangelists.
Alex Jones is the Robert Tilton of the conspiracy world.

What he did at that demonstration was bad enough, but worse, to fantasize the next day on his show that he didn't disrupt the event, but rather it was the organizers who are to blame is unexplainable. I was never his biggest supporter, especially of late, but his actions are those of a sick man. A 24x7x365 diet of this material can blow the circuits of anyone. If AJ is to salvage his reputation he'll have to take time off, acknowledge his misconduct and ask forgiveness. If he doesn't do this, I'll consider him to have moved to the other side.
One way he's an unstable character who would think nothing of stabbing those who trust him in the back if it were to his advantage, and the other way he's delberately sabotaging the patriot movement.
The rally was organized by the We Are Change Austin people.
This rally was actually organized by John Bush and Texans For Accountable Government. (www.tagtexas.org). Here's their press release: tagtexas.org/?p=131, and here's their media page with some videos of mainstream media covering the event: tagtexas.org/?page_id=82
I've always been agnostic on the subject of Alex Jones, for whatever reason I've never become a fan of talk radio. I've held my tongue until now because I know most posters here are both more sincere and thorough than I've ever been, for what it's worth. Keep up the faith though and all that, maybe I'll adopt some kierkegard in my tagline
or something
In 2007, the FBI reported on concern about white supremacists recruiting soldiers, saying "hundreds" of neo-Nazis were in the active military. But in April, a Department of Homeland Security report on extremism that reiterated much the same point was widely criticized by veterans groups and some conservative politicians as being unpatriotic, leading the Justice Department to retract the DHS report.
Critics acknowledge that extremism in the Army is a touchy political subject.
One of Kierkegaard's recurrent themes is the importance of subjectivity, which has to do with the way people relate themselves to (objective) truths. In Concluding Unscientific Postscript to Philosophical Fragments, he argues that "subjectivity is truth" and "truth is subjectivity." What he means by this is that most essentially, truth is not just a matter of discovering objective facts. While objective facts are important, there is a second and more crucial element of truth, which involves how one relates oneself to those matters of fact. Since how one acts is, from the ethical perspective, more important than any matter of fact, truth is to be found in subjectivity rather than objectivity.

Without reading any of these comments, I think what we have here is cult personality that assumed that in Austin, he would be allowed to take the horn and run the show. Ego ruled that day. Ooooops, Alex.
Now, will my attitude change once I read the thread? Many of you are quite persuasive.
they invited him up to the front but he did not accept that invitation
Now, that is curious.
But, are we supposed to believe, as AJ contemplated going to the rally, that he thought he could get away with this behavior? He really is smarter than that. This is a fluke. So far, ego and bad timing.
that's why i don't believe he's an op or dirty as you said above. i really think it was ego. i think it was a photo op for him with local media and that he was obtaining footage to include in a future documentary, but as FormerLurker pointed out above, that personality flaw severely hurts his credibility, trustworthiness, and even makes him dangerous. the fallout and dissention in our 'patriot' community when something like this happens saddens me.

Thus his attack on Jeff Rense and getting Rense, who has a huge audience which was coming close to rivaling Alex's, and having him kicked off of Genesis
Suppose you were an enemy agent-provocateur and your handler ordered you to disrupt a rally organized by supposed friendlies, the same rally to which you were invited but declined to speak. WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY?
I might have asked said "handler" if he didn't think that would blow my cover.
Yep, he is too smart to blow cover, loose audience and credibility with a damn camera on him.
