KING, N.C. -- A state of emergency has been declared in King due to severe weather that started Friday morning.

There is a curfew in place for the duration of the state of emergency. Unless a person is a member of the King Police Department or the Emergency Management Program, everyone located within the city must be inside a house dwelling from midnight to 5 a.m.

There will be no sale, consumption, transportation or possession of alcoholic beverages, except for possession of consumption on a person's own residential premises.

There will also be no sale or purchase of any type of firearm, ammunition, explosive or any possession of such items off a person's own premises.

I learned very early in life, during the 1930s, to pay attention to what was around me. The "haves" were always trying to scam, shuck and jive, and squeeze one more dime out of us.

From there, one learns to carry that into politics etc etc on a grander scale.

However in those days the majority of the young of the masses were still taught the golden rule etc etc. There was a Puritanical thread there also..

Today there are no "standards" of behavior, no settled law, no firm value of a dollar and we for these reasons lack the ability to plan or forecast our own future.

I think we all speak too little of those days.

Whoever would return government to the "will of the people" must first return the United States to the use of CONSTITUTIONAL COINAGE as a medium of exchange and through it return the Constitution as law in the United States.
