WHAT OUR CHILDREN ARE DYING FOR IN AFGHANISTAN

The Taliban had all but eradicated the opium growers before the US invasion. So why is cheap Afghani heroin flooding into the United States? www.thebostonchannel.com/cnn-news/21068822/detail.html

WHAT OUR CHILDREN ARE DYING FOR IN AFGHANISTAN

Kids out ........ napalm in.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. .... Legalizing it is the only answer.

The only reason they farm and sell it is because of the money it brings. Take out the outrageous profits by making it legal and it will disappear.

And just because it's legal doesn't mean people will use it. The illegal status of drugs does not stop people from using it.

You'd think people would have learned from alcohol prohibition. But nooooo! They didn't learn a damn thing.

And now we are enabling it. We are fighting for the drug dealers instead of against them. That is only because our government has a vested interest in the drug trade. They created the problem and they provided a phony solution, and they did it all for the money.

The primary reason that the US invaded Afghanistan is to encircle Iran.

Here's one of the real, ancillary reasons that the US invaded Afghanistan....

thelastcrusade.org/2010/0...hampions-women%E2%80%99s- lib-in-afghanistan/

HILLARY’S HIJAB THE MUSLIM METHODIST

www.thelastcrusade.org

A U.S. plan to support women’s initiatives in Afghanistan to promote social development and sexual equality was unveiled yesterday by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Details of the the Women’s Action Plan for Afghanistan were released at the London Conference on Afghanistan, state department officials said in a press release.

Secretary Clinton maintains that women’s empowerment is inextricably linked to security, economic opportunity, effective governance, and social development in Afghanistan and seeks to a create a country where “women are free from violence and coercion; where girls can go to school; where parents can find jobs and quality health care is more easily accessible.”

State Department officials said the plan includes initiatives focused on women’s security; women’s leadership in the public and private sectors; women’s access to judicial institutions, education, and health services; and women’s ability to take advantage of economic opportunities, especially in the agricultural sector.

Officials said the effort stands “in stark contrast to the oppression and marginalization women face from Afghan insurgents.”

A recently passsed law in Afghanistan permits Muslim husbands to deny their wives food and water if they refuse to submit to their husband’s sexual demands.

The same legilation grants guardianship of children exclusively to their fathers and grandfathers and requires women to get permission from their husbands to work.

85.1 % of the women in Afghanistan have no formal education. Only 1% of the girls in rural comunities attend school. The average salary for female workers, including women who labor in the popium trade, is 48 cents a day

Secretary Clinton has appeared in public on several occasions wearing a hijab, the traditional Islamic head covering which denotes a woman’s subjugation to male authority and has not championed women’s rights when meeting with leading Muslim officials, including the religious leaders of Pakistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Iraq.

The Taliban hadn't eradicated opium growing on their own initiative. They were being paid (bribed) enormous sums by the Bush Administration and previous administrations, prior to Sept 11th, to restrain the opium industy in Afghanistan. Now that we're no longer being pals with them, they are promoting opium as a means of raising funds.

On a slight different point, the Bush decision to fight the Taliban, as well as Al-Qaeda, was questionable. Al-Qaeda is not the same as the Taliban; in fact, the two groups had little in common and relatively little communication until the US became their common enemy. The Taliban were home-grown fanatics -- mostly Afghanis with some Pakistanis, mostly speaking Pashto. Al-Qaeda was mostly Arabic-speaking and from Saudi Arabia and some farther flung places. Very literally, few in either group to talk to members of the other group. The Afghanis, generally, don't mind us (America) getting rid of the Al-Qaeda foreign crazies, but they do begrudge us foreigners shooting at their own homegrown Taliban.

Say what????

How did "women's empowerment" help America's "security, economic opportunity, effective governance, and social development?"

Before we promote that gobbly gook to other countries, we should look at our country and see if that shiite actually is true.

True. But dont forget the DEA, the prison industry including the "justice" dept, and all the local drug pigs that like the money they get to carry on this perpetual joke of a "war".

Time was, I thought legalizing it would be stupid and the only ones that wanted it were dope fiends. Not anymore.

And now we are enabling it. We are fighting for the drug dealers instead of against them. That is only because our government has a vested interest in the drug trade. They created the problem and they provided a phony solution, and they did it all for the money.

And it is largely the same stupid fundies who allow themselves to be led around by the nose and played like a violin.

Drugs are illegal because it makes them more profitable and it is easier to shut down any competition that might come up.

Elembents of the U.S. Government, such as the Cocaine Importation Agency, constitute the largest and most powerful Drug Cartel on the planet. Afghanistan was not about "terrorism" is was about control of the Heroin Market and secondarily the oil pipeline. The Taliban's major "sin" was shutting down the growth of Opium Poppies and thus the flow of raw materials needed to sustain the Heroin Trade.

Over, and over, and over, again the U.S. Government, particularly the CIA, has been implicated in running the drug trade, and the child sex slavery trade, in the U.S. and likely elsewhere.

Hitlery is a communist and a lesbian (or at least lesbian leaning bi). In her perverted world the ends justify the means. Sadly women's equality was hijacked by lesbians and the CIA. She is such a twisted and distorted piece of animate flesh that she is a million light years from sane.

I forgot about this when it comes to why we are there. I thought it was the Unocal pipeline only. But I believe you're right.

They learned the trade from England and their shipping opium to China.

Well, why don't you really show your disapproval. Go out to your garage, tie a rope around the rafters, put a loop in it so that it is about 8 feet above the ground. Then take a chair, insert neck into loop, and then kick the chair away. See! Problem solved.

The other option would be to open your eyes to reality.

I suspect the former more likely than the latter.

I had to suppress my gag reflex when Robertson and Falwell opened their mouths. Not easy to do after just having lunch.

The thing is, thanks to the internet, I believe this is coming to an end. It just can't happen soon enough. I think it's ironic that DARPAs invention is leading to their destruction. I get a lot of traffic from people looking for info on jews. I'm sure others with bigger sites can say the same thing.

Thank God for the internet. It's not just a porn portal. That is another jew invention, BTW. Jews are big in porn. Porn is strange. Do cows get turned on by watching other cows do it? But I digress.

I need to check out Pike. I generally despise "preachers", but maybe he is one of the Good Guys.

Legalizing it is the only answer.

How about criminalizing the so-called drug warriors, DEA, CIA and other assorted criminals, theives and murderers associated with the so-called war on a list of non-approved substances(aka:drugs)?

I think you're right about legalizing these drugs but I'd add an intensive "education" campaign of potential consequences of use/misuse.

The irony is that every time police make a big drug bust the community is a little less safe because price goes up as supply goes down, so a druggy needing more cash commits more crime. Stupid Feds in Canada are going to the Supreme Court to close down a "safe" drug supply clinic for addicts in BC instead of conducting research into ways to get people off drugs and developing intensive education programs to preclude people from being hooked.

I agree, in a way.

I'd use the money gained strictly to finance treatment as well as education.

It seems odd to legalize something and then use the money for treatment of what you legalize. But I dont see any other solution than to take the money out of the equation. If it wasn't for the profits, there would be no crime.

I think it's sick that the Valentines Day massacre killed 7 people, and that created a royal shitstorm for Capone and his outfit. Now, when 7 die, it might make the news for a day or 2.
