Sergei vs Dimitri. The movie is set in 1936, Russia, after the Bolshevik Revolution. Colonel Sergei Kotov is one of the revolutionary hero. Dimitri (Hans) is an officer in Stalin's secret police.

Both men search for a soccer ball as Dimitri confronts Sergei. They trade sharp criticisms and accusations. Power vibes shift between the two men as little Nadya interrupts them.
