Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) is recovering at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center after a bout with pneumonia and surgery on his knee.

Dole, the 1996 GOP presidential nominee, has gotten past his struggle with pneumonia and, according to a source, is back to working and making calls from the hospital on behalf of his clients at the law firm Alston & Bird.

“Thanks to the great doctors and nurses at Walter Reed, I am making great strides, working between sessions and hope to be fully recovered and back at the office in a few weeks,” Dole said in a statement to POLITICO.

Dole, 86, was hospitalized at Walter Reed for more than a week last summer after experiencing an elevated heart rate. He was also treated for sores on his left leg.

The former senate majority leader intends to return to work as soon as he can walk.

What the hell? Is Mr. Brink working overtime?

Godfrey Smith: Mike, I wouldn't worry. Prosperity is just around the corner.
Mike Flaherty: Yeah, it's been there a long time. I wish I knew which corner.

The guys at the bottom have NOT forgotten Walter Reed and the filthy hole that they had to abide in.

You did your turn, but do not forget the kids now that you have it made.

Oh, I can't resist........

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ... We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." Edward Bernays, Father of Public Relations

I hadn't heard that song before.......I like it. It reminds me a bit of this song:

The lead singer is a poser.....classic '80's hairband. I like the guitars, but the band took the cheesy lyrics a bit too serious. Good solo rolls in at 3:20.
