Just days before Texas Republicans pick their nominee for governor, incumbent Rick Perry has his biggest lead yet.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Republican Primary voters finds Perry leading Senate Kay Bailey Hutchison 48% to 27%, with Tea Party activist Debra Medina earning 16% of the vote. Nine percent (9%) of Texas GOP voters remain undecided.

Perry will take it without even a primary. Unless some Dims crossover to vote for Hutchison just to force Perry to spend money on a primary. This being Texas, it might happen.

Medina peaked in the mid-twenties. Then the Beck smear drove her numbers back down.

I'm not sure she or K-Bay could have forced a runoff. Nor does either one lose many votes to the other.

This pole and article is misleading...Kinda like Glenn Becks BS.

It was taken at the beginning of the month not yesterday.

Here is a more current poll http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.aspx?feed=ACBJ&date=20100215&id=11118488

Thanks for doing your part at spreading the propaganda.

No. It is a new poll from 2/24/2010. It does mention that older poll data but those are the current numbers from Rasmussen.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Republican Primary voters finds Perry leading Senate Kay Bailey Hutchison 48% to 27%, with Tea Party activist Debra Medina earning 16% of the vote. Nine percent (9%) of Texas GOP voters remain undecided.

At the beginning of the month, Perry lead 44% to Hutchison’s 29% and Medina’s 16%.

Regardless of polling Medina is toast. Her comments calling (and agreeing with Mark, Slimeball Klearchannel Radiodroid, Davis) those interested in the truth of 911 despicable for wanting the truth sealed the end of her viability as a candidate. You can stick a fork in her - she's done.

Med ina showed her lack of experience with the Beck and Davis interviews. She should have thought out ONE POSITION on 911 and held to it. She should have called for a new investigation on the NORAS stand down which would have led to Cheney.

Loaded questions are just that, loaded to explode in the face of a person that is unsuspecting.

Guessing that Beck, Davis, and probably Jones will get some nice quiche for their efforts.

I had hopes for Medina. Still think she has the right course to steer, but moral people rarely make it in politics.

She could have done herself a lot of good, instead of a lot of harm, by answering Beck's question something like this. "Truther"? What is a "truther"? Is it not someone who wants to know the truth, whatever it may be? And let me ask you, Glenn, do you believe that a steel-framed skyscraper, one which was not hit by any planes, fell into its own footprint because of fire damage? WTC 7 did and that has never happened before or since 9/11." And she could have left it at that. Or maybe say she believes, as many of the commissioners who did the report on 9/11, that a new, independent study is needed. So simple, so easy and it might have even gained her some support. As it is she shot her own foot off in two different interviews by flip flopping.

Same kind of experience as Sarah Palin. Women should stick to having babies (what God created them for) and standing at the kitchen sink and stay outta politics. The 19th amendment should be repealed.

She should have been ready for that question. She worked to elect Ron Paul, she saw them trying to pull this on him. So she got hurt by failing to be prepared for the gotcha questions. Any RP supporter knows they'll do anything to stop one of us. They fear the danger of a good example.

I don't think this is why she isn't going to win, though some people will spin it that way and they'll blame Beck. I think Beck was despicable and I think he was trying to do her in. I never trusted that weasel and I never will. Even after he started being a little more friendly to Ron Paul and such; I always was waiting for him to turn again and attack. He's such a phony neocon tool.

But unseating Perry, an incumbent, when the state was on a lot better footing than most any others and when Texas was continuing to grow was a very tough proposition, especially for a small business owner who had had no other executive political experience. If Texas had been flat on its back, she might have had a good chance.

And Mark Davis is even slimier than Beck is.

Not fair to Alex, Jim.

Now WBAP is calling her a Tea Party candidate instead of indentifying her as a Republican like the ballot shows her to be. She was marked for destruction from the beginning.

It's pretty obvious her lack of conviction and values marked herself as it turns out.

Give her any excuse you like, but her national conversation on Globalist Treason is no different than her competition.

What a pathetic ending to a hopeful beginning...(again)

No doubt that the NeoCons DO NOT want another Libertarian-Conservative - it makes them look like the filthy Trotskyite pseudo-conservatives they are. And you are no doubt correct that the establishment would have done anything to defeat her regardless of which position she took on 911 Truth. Mark, Slimeball Klearchannel Radiodroid, Davis made that perfectly klear(channel) with his scuzzy performance.

They wanted only one of the two establishment candidates, to them that meant Perry would ultimately win it.

Hutchison had to be brain-dead to file for it. I never thought she was very bright and this just confirms it one more time. In fact, I've never seen how K-Bay got elected to anything to begin with. A huge mediocrity in a skirt.
