He was making and selling a small device called a "zapper" that had a 555 timer, a couple of pennies, some copper shavings embedded in resin, a resister and capacitor or 2 (I built one myself, but forgot the specifics. It's a simple 555 timer circuit that you can find anywhere) and selling them for $100 - $150 each. What a racket!

Know what I want to see? Lets take all speculation and throw it away. Take out the profit motive. Next time they start spraying, get a rented Lear or Citation up to altitude and gather samples. Analyze it immediately at a good university, following rules of evidence in handling the sample. Make the results public.

I was living in Des Moines, Iowa, when this started and on the first day, few people noticed the bizarre display in the sky but everyone was talking about the sudden rise in respiratory illness and deaths among the elderly, infirm and infants there.
