Two police officers were injured by a gunman firing shots outside the Pentagon tonight and a suspect was in custody, a police spokesman said.

There were reports of two police officers were shot outside the Pentagon Metro station on Thursday, March 4, 2009. (Andy Dunaway/USAF via Getty Images)Police said the officers' injuries were not life-threatening. The officers were taken to George Washington Hospital in Washington. The shooter was injured when police returned fire, a spokesman said.

The shooting occurred at the Pentagon Metro Station, which is just outside the Pentagon's main entrance. The shots were fired at about 6:35 p.m. ET.

Initially, hundreds of employees at the Pentagon were ordered to go into "Code Red" -- the entire building locked down, with no one allowed to enter or leave

This sounds like a deliberate act of either a psycho or a terrorist.

The Pentagon Metro (subway) station was essentially sealed off about 25 years old. Previously, if you got off the train at the Pentagon station you could freely enter the indoor shopping center in the Pentagon's basement - lots of stores and boutiques there. But about 25 years ago, after some sort of anti- war bombing, the subway station was essentially sealed off. If you got off the train at that station, you had to stay on the platform for another train - unless you had Pentagon clearance, either official ID badge or else an appointment and escort to some office in the Pentagon. Only those privileged people with official clearance could do anything at the Pentagon subway station except get on another train; this was no intersection of lines so there was really no reason to get off the train there if you weren't going into the Pentagon itself, and the station platform was under constant surveillance.

By the same token, the parking lot around the Pentagon closed off except for those with similar clearance.

Entering the building either from the subway or the parking lot meant going through the usual metal detecting and x-ray equipment.

So the shooter didn't get into the Pentagon building, probably didn't get there either by the subway station or the parking lot, but probably walked onto the Pentagon campus, armed and with malicious intent.

Amazing, such huge deduction from so little information.

Shocking.

Armed and ornery at an institution dedicated to pacific pursuits.

It's no accident the Supremes are currently deciding an important 2nd Amendment matter.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Law enforcement officials say they've got one person in custody and are investigating whether a second was involved in a shooting at the Pentagon subway entrance.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is still unfolding.

They say there's no immediate signs of terrorism but, with information coming in quickly, they haven't ruled anything out.

Two police officers were shot and sustained grazing wounds. The suspect was also shot. His injuries were described as "pretty critical."

Three law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation, said authorities were also scrutinizing a second man who may have accompanied the shooting suspect.

Two of the officials said investigators had not yet determined whether that second man had any involvement in the attack.

Will the "suspect" live to tell his story ...

Prior to the Federal Reserve Act, no political dreamer was ever wild enough to think of breaking down the lines which separate the States, and of compounding the American People into one common mass of slaves. Yet, this is exactly what has happened under Social Security, by creating a revenue base for the collection of interest on a fictitious national debt owed to the Federal Reserve banks, in other words, slavery to the national debt under the so-called 14th Amendment.

This one appears at first glance to be from the left.

It does not matter, the lone wolves will increase in number. People in government may surround themselves with concrete barriers, cannon and black hooded Gestapo, the wolves will keep coming.

Once again the wolf has died, leaving the criminal government with no one to parade thru endless MSM hours, carrying dire warnings to the masses of what awaits them if they dare rise off their knees.

Many Reichstag fires lately.

Our rulers have retrofitted the Reichstag with a modern automatic ignition system.

Large or small conflagrations can now be ordered up at their convenience to terrorize the hoople heads.
