Mudboy KNOWS the answer, so I'll refrain from commenting vis a vis HOO I imagine myself to be, so I will refrain from tainting the potential pool of test subjects with my somewhat-skewed biases...LOL!!

But fer the rest of y'all..."HOO amongst the Animal Farm cast do you most empathize?!"

Quite sincerely...MUD

BTW...this is a multi-Forum requirement insisted upon by the ObamaNationCensus2010 committee on preserving YER CIVIL RIGHTS AS AMERICANS...I apologize, my friends, I am just doing my job...

OK, either Moses the crow or Clover, Boxer the horse's girlfriend.

Moses actually represents the Russian Orthodox Church in the novel, Mike. : )

Clover is a better choice, I think, because she is an allusion to the working class people. She cannot see how cruel other animals can be as she opts to see the best in all.

True; but my favorite counter-culture teahouse got turned into one of those ROCs, and the head priest and I are friends. Friends that don't see eye to eye, mind you. But whenever I see the beared one in a black robe saundering my way heading past my porch -- no doubt everready to deliver yet another nugget of his wisdom, I sometimes see a ghost of a crow sitting on his shoulder.

(Those clattering Russian church bells are irritating as the dickens too.)

As for Clover, that's what I like about her. I actually had a girlfriend like her years ago. I tend to be more cynical than she was, so alas, it didn't last.

A shame too, she was a charmer.

I think it fits because Moses was deemed useful to the pigs when conditions got worse, although they did not agree with him or trust him. Moses returns and Nepoleon and his dogs see how useful it is for Moses to rant about Sugarcandy Mountain.....so they buy him off for a "gill of beer a day."

When Stalin needed to drum up patriotic support for the war against Germany in 1941, he re-instituted the church. Stalin could see how useful the church is to a totalitarian leader. However, the church was rather bought off because the teachings really didn't fall in line with what Stalin was doing.

See, Boxer wasn't the smartest animal around, but he always had a good heart, and once he became convinced of the worthiness of his chosen cause, there was no one who could stop him from making his project a successful one. However, the way the scumbag pigs used and abused his idealism always bothered me more than pretty much everything else they did, even the rampant EffeteElite LIES!!

My money was on you picking hard working, strong and much admired Boxer, Mud. : )

As an allegorical figure, Boxer represents the Russian working class, along with Clover. But, I think that Owell viewed the working class as pawns because it was the strength of the working class that allowed for the Russian Revolution in 1917. In Animal Farm, the pigs could never have come into power without the strength of the good-spirited and much admired Boxer.

lol.....I recently re-read Animal Farm and 1984. In particular, I was interested in Orwell's Animal farm in relation to allegory and the Soviet regime. Otherwise, I would not be able to recall the allegorical relationships with the characters at this time. For once, I was prepared for a pop quiz.

Currently, I'm re-reading Call of the Wild. : )

Mollie is a self-centered, self-indulgent and vain young white mare who likes wearing ribbons in her mane, eating sugar cubes, and being pampered and groomed by humans. She quickly leaves for another farm and is only once mentioned again.

Very well said, my friend...Boxer unwittingly allowed his idealism to be used against him and his Cause as he became the prototypical Marxist TOOL (aka ignorant DUPE). Let's not kid ourselves, Obama--and many of the RATS/RINOs-- see themselves as Napolean and they've got their RAT-Media and the RAT- educators and the growing contingent of UnionTHUG-RAT-bureaucRATS to try and enslave WeThePeople (see also Boxer) with their beloved all-powerful Federal Leviathan.

What George Orwell did not foresee was the flourishing of the Information Age and the World-Wide Web and talk-radio. RATS may not like it, but all their brainwashing failed to convince a hearty contingent of Patriots that their Marxist/Progressive/Socialist/Lib'ral Agenda is superior to that envisioned by our Founding Fathers. Sure, the RAT-Media was successful in fooling the electorate into electing the RAT-Messiah based on his LIES (buttressed by the RAT-Media's LIES), but WeThePeople are armed with the Truth to the point that the Great&MercifulLordMessiah Obama can't git his ambitious Marxist Agenda accomplished!!

If the Truth is available fer mass-distribution to WeThePeople, I will put my money on WeThePeople to reject the RATS' Totalitarian Dreams and defeat the ObamaNation's VILE Leftist intentions.

Interesting...I recently visited the Holocaust Museum in DeeCee...if you haven't yet, I recommend it highly. Anyway, down in the lower level, they had a major exhibit detailing the Nazi Propoganda Machine and it reminds me SOOO MUCH of how the RAT-Media is propgandizing fer the RAT-Messiah. Now that you've mentioned it, I think it would be quite instructional to compare the Soviet's brainwashing to the Nazi's brainwashing to the Progressive Left in America's brainwashing. A widely-circulated email from a co-worker...pass it on...

"THANK GOD FOR BARACK OBAMA!!"

"He destroyed the Clinton Political Machine - Driving a stake thru the heart of Hillary's Presidential aspirations - something no Republican was ever able to do. Remember when a Hillary Presidency scared the daylights out of you!

He killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - No more Kennedy's trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home. American women and Freedom are safer tonight!

He is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes!

Dennis Moore had never lost a race - quit

Evan Bayh had never lost a race - quit

Byron Dorgan - had never lost a race - quit

Harry Reid - bid for re-election doesn't look good

These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed! By the end of 2010 dozens more will be!

In December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election cycles they had picked up 14 senate seats and 52 house seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party.

In one year Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the House, if not the Senate, back to the Republicans.

He has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Every Generation seems to need to relearn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. He is bringing home the lesson very well!

Liberals tax, borrow and spend - check

Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America - check

Liberals want to take over the economy - check

Liberals think they know what is best for everyone - check

Liberals aren't happy till they are running YOUR life - check

He has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan

In One year he rejuvenated the Conservative movement and brought out to the streets millions of Freedom Loving Americans

Name me one other time in your life that you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America!

In all honesty one year ago I was more afraid than I had ever been in my life. Not of the economy but of the direction our country was going. I thought Americans had forgotten what this country was all about. My neighbors, friends, strangers proved to me that my lack of confidence of the Greatness and Wisdom of the American people was flat out wrong.

When the American People wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them!

Barack Obama woke up these Great Americans

Again, I want say Thank You Barack Obama!"
