As an allegorical figure, Boxer represents the Russian working class, along with Clover. But, I think that Owell viewed the working class as pawns because it was the strength of the working class that allowed for the Russian Revolution in 1917. In Animal Farm, the pigs could never have come into power without the strength of the good-spirited and much admired Boxer.

Very well said, my friend...Boxer unwittingly allowed his idealism to be used against him and his Cause as he became the prototypical Marxist TOOL (aka ignorant DUPE). Let's not kid ourselves, Obama--and many of the RATS/RINOs-- see themselves as Napolean and they've got their RAT-Media and the RAT- educators and the growing contingent of UnionTHUG-RAT-bureaucRATS to try and enslave WeThePeople (see also Boxer) with their beloved all-powerful Federal Leviathan.

What George Orwell did not foresee was the flourishing of the Information Age and the World-Wide Web and talk-radio. RATS may not like it, but all their brainwashing failed to convince a hearty contingent of Patriots that their Marxist/Progressive/Socialist/Lib'ral Agenda is superior to that envisioned by our Founding Fathers. Sure, the RAT-Media was successful in fooling the electorate into electing the RAT-Messiah based on his LIES (buttressed by the RAT-Media's LIES), but WeThePeople are armed with the Truth to the point that the Great&MercifulLordMessiah Obama can't git his ambitious Marxist Agenda accomplished!!
