So I received my census form today. The only questions that it asked was how many people live in the house, their names, how they are related to me, whether they lived here full time, what race everyone is, their names and birthdays. That's it. I answered everything because they were all legitimate questions IMHO. The only thing that might give them fits is that I did not give them my phone number and for race I clicked the other box and wrote in "American" for all of us.

They already know who lives here because of my income taxes so it's not like I was giving them any information they didn't already have. Besides, with the exception of race and my phone number, those are the type of valid census questions the government has been asking its citizens for two hundred plus years.

Your post made me curious, so I did a Google search and found that the Census Bureau began asking the names of individual family members in 1850. Prior to that they just wanted to know how many and what age groups they fell into and if you owned slaves. Interestingly, 1850 is also when they began asking for the names, ages and occupation of each family member, the address, value of real estate owned, whether someone had been married or attended school within that year, and whether each person could read and write.

I got one today also, it is the extended play version. I haven't looked through it's entirety, but when I send it back it will only have the number of persons living here and a nasty-gram about all the other BS questions. the closest I'll come to answering the race question will be the part of the nasty-gram where I tell them they can kiss my pasty white backside.

The jobs, which offer competitive wages and flexible schedules, also allow people to work in their neighborhoods. The pay for jobs in Austin begins at $17.00 per hour.

Sounds like a sweet job. What are those people going to do, meander into the homeless tent cities and start knocking on flaps? Does body armor come with the job? Are they going to shove transponders up the pooters of the workers so they can identify the bodies and determine where they were killed?

She swears (under penalty of perjury) that all it asked were the number of persons living here and our dates of birth.

here is an up-date on my census forms, I've yet to open either let alone send one in. so yesterday they sent a retard (or maybe he was just really stupid) pulls up and says he's looking for the resident of (mumbles five or six sequences of my house number) four digits kicked his butt but good, I ask why? says he's with the census I thought about getting out a copy of the public official questionnaire I keep hard copies of for just such occasions but instead told him there are x number of adults (plus or minus 2) who dwell here and that is all the information they need and all the information they'd get. didn't see him annotate anything on paper but then again the four digits that make up my house number still had him reeling.
