It can backfire though and lead people to start questioning. That is my hope anyway. Let's face it, I started by listening to Rush. I had moved beyond Beck by the time he caught my attention. So it IS possible.

I have to agree, and when I caught Rush in his spinning and lying, and he is so good at it that you really have to be following close to catch it, that opened my eyes to a larger view of reality. It was really quite stunning to me when it happened. I was listening on my pocket radio in the backyard, and he took a set of facts, which I was already familiar with, and spun it away to a plausible but incorrect conclusion that was not as damaging to the establishment as the logical conclusion. It was very slick the way he did it, and he made it sound so "reasonable and plausible". I was both heartbroken to realize that he was just another paid liar and admired the skill with which he lied.

Absolutely. Everything he says and covers is, I have no doubt, carefully scripted and planned in advance. His function is manipulation and to communicate disinformation in a convincing manner. The key to successful disinformation, and Rush Limbaugh follows this carefully, is to tell the truth MOST of the time. Which is another way of saying that to get the disinformation accepted it has to first be set up by repeating and telling people things that are true in order to create a level of credibility and thus acceptance for the times when the disinformation and misleading conclusions are slid in. I pick on the FreepTards® because they epitomize the perihelion of the gullible sucker class that never picks up on how they are being manipulated.
