Nobody but the crafters of the POS have any idea how it will impact our freedom. Given their track record, and Obama's politics, it won't be good. It pisses me off too. I had my last straw long ago. I'm cynical because, for the most part, people are very apathetic. Around here, we know the score, but the average American needs to be hit up side the head with a clue by four. : ) The the dupes in DC get away with taxing, spending, borrowing, complete incompetence and I used to think that there would FINALLY be a breaking point, but alas, I no longer view it as something that will come to pass without a major economic collapse. Sheesh, the Patriot act crapped all over the Constitution and our rights, yet it gets extened time and time again. And, we the people do nothing. Worse, the POS's that passed that tripe get re-elected despite crapping on our freedom. Nope, this healthcare reform will be no good for the people--good for big pharma, hospitals and big insurance. Yes, it pisses me off, but I disagree with Goldi that it will FINALLY be the hair that broke the camel's back.

Cyni, the last time there was real protest in large numbers was over Vietnam. And the jack boot thugs shot students at colleges. The voices screamed and wailed, but the empire marched on and on and on. We the people paid dearly with the loss of the Gold Standard and the Brenton Woods replacement. And since then, all the corruption, back room deals, massive corpritacracy, crapping on the Constitution have all gotten WORSE. Because We the People are apathetic, the dupes in DC don't even listen to us. I disagree about "fear" of the people. This healthcare reform farce clearly demonstrated NO FEAR of the people. Anger be damned. I've done more than bitch, Cyni, but I'm feeling worn out from lack of tangible results, left feeling my efforts have been futile. I think that as long as people continue to line up in the Red or Blue camps, we'll keep getting the shaft. Until people wake up to the two party fraud, no march on Washington or anger or protest will make any significant change. And right now, people continue to be dupes for Red and Blue.

The thing is we have no idea what spark will cause the fire. Sure there have been lots before this, but I can't recall bricks through windows before. We have, IMO, entered a period of time where there are no tomorrows. We have no leadership, and in this case, that's good. Let these events grow/ Let us rally in the Washington Mall bu the hundreds of thousands and don't listen to the clods who suggest violence isn't the answer. Violence is the only answer.

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end. To me the fear emanating from Washington is palatable. They do NOT fear any group, political or otherwise, rather it is the individual. That is why Bush and company enacted the Patriot act and all those other laws, to crush any and all organized dissent. In their minds, they were convinced that the individuals would be to cowed to act alone, they have been proven wrong. And the news is replete across the country of the unrest.
History is repeating itself, but not in the sense she seems to say. "States rights" -- again. It will lose -- again. The left is correct about that. ... maybe it will morph into something different. Because something is different.

The times have changed. Colleges are gun free zones and college kids don't give a crap about this fight. This is our fight - the 40+ crowd, and we're incidentally the same ones who bought app 70 million guns since O was coronated. Yep, these are different times and they aren't for the faint of heart. For all the wind and bluster some of us emit, I expect about 10-15% who will be willing to fight. The rest will be hiding in PM.

is that what's scaring goldi-lox? Point, game and match. From what I can tell, the most the HC reforms may cost over ten years is $95B. The minimum of the budget of the corrupt Pentagon colossus is $850 A YEAR. Our nation is terribly misinformed of the basic structure of the budget, and Wall Street and the MIC IS going to destroy this nation. We spent over double for health care then the average nation and receive a monstrosity for it all.

Well, none of its free, as I am unaware that OB is going to declare martial law for the medical community, but I am with you on the massively excessively military spending which has created a political monument that few politicans can say no to. The $$ to Israel is a travesty in so many ways. A lot of that money is fungiable and gets straight into the US political system. A horrendous corruption of political integrity.

I know there is more to this story, but maybe we should give that B$$$ to the folks who stand on there feet all day, have highly specialized knowledge and actually help our citizens. Or do we chose to have a system where powerful citizens feed on the sick and weak and the worker class, that actually do something, like pave a road or fix a truck??
