About Men

If you will forgive my generalizations, I’d like to have a conversation about men. I find men to be wonderful creatures. Ingenious and creative, they never cease to fascinate me.

Since the advent of the nature v nurture argument, there has been this push to make men more like women. They are urged to “get in touch” with their feelings, to think before they speak and to be kind and gentle towards all. This is especially true in the school system. Sadly this denies them everything that makes them men and you boys don’t even have the serotonin levels necessary for such behavior. And who says men aren’t in touch with their feelings anyway?

Men are expected to treat everyone as equals when it is the nature of a man to develop a pecking order. Equality must be proven and earned.

A mother is nurturing if she kisses away the tears and tells her son it will be all right but a man is not nurturing when he tells his son to shake it off, take it like a man. Why? The father is teaching his son the rules for being a man, teaching him how to establish his place in the pecking order. How is teaching the boy how to be a man not nurturing? Because it is not the way a female would do it?

Men tend to be visual. Their ability to visualize makes them great engineers. They can see ways of making things easier. They don’t just create the screw driver but they make it magnetic to hold the screw. Poor example but you know what I mean.

This visual nature is denied them when it comes to their sexuality. To enjoy viewing women is to turn them into objects and not allowed. To see the beauty in art is to appreciate it but to see the beauty in women is debasement. Go figure.

Men don’t do the touchy feely stuff women view as romantic. In her view he must prove his love by buying expensive jewelry and it must be something she likes or it is assumed no thought was involved. Men are problem solvers. He is more likely to show his love and appreciation by putting a lever door handle on the door you routinely use with your hands full. Then he is dismayed when his thoughtfulness goes unappreciated. Too bad because it sure makes it easier to open that door with a full laundry basket.

The more I learn about men, the more I admire them for what they are. Heaven help us if we succeed in turning them into female clones. Our very survival depends on them remaining men. Subscribe to *Humor-Weird News*

I wouldn't say it is a "pecking order" thing - it is more a matter that men, culturally, are expected to be the defenders, the strength that protects the nurturers so they can nurture. It is true that a weak man will get picked on - I have more than once had to "explain" to some clod that polite does not equal wimp. I recall one who after he picked himself up off of the deck would not admit to anyone that the "wimp" had decked him. Although he had a hard time explaining away the knuckle mark in his right temple. But I digress.

It is more a matter of culture wherein men are the expendables and women are not. Men can die and women and children live on and further the existence of the race. It is really that simple. Our society with its social veneer has made that role appear somewhat redundant, but that is only because times have been good.

As for the "touch feely" stuff - oooooooooooooh - thats for sissies n' wimmin.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

"You've got to put right and wrong above legal and illegal. Because when tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty; and it is not rebellion at all, it is submission to the higher law that our government is in rebellion to. We're not the rebels, they're the rebels."

In the field of inventions and patents women are becoming more like men. Women's patent share was 3 percent in 1977 and now has reached 20 percent. It's expected to reach 50% in the next generation.

There are lots more crazy women in the world than men.

I'm a magnet for crazy chicks. Never have figured it out.

Heaven help us if we succeed in turning them into female clones.

Most women want men to be female clones.

Since my 2nd divorce, I have noticed that they are not looking for a man at all, but another female with a penis.

LOL most of them have boy friends.

Not me, I love men. I love men being men. I had a girl friend who was amazed that men talked to me. I've had several men on different occasions tell me I think like a man. I'm honored by the compliment.

My dream guy. Well should be. My husband can fix the car, did build a new deck, was a general contractor, used to race, doesn't drink beer but does watch Bruce Willis movies but sadly other crap has taken a toll.

I've worked on my car, can use power tools, do minor electrical and plumbing. I love movies where things blow up. I prefer dark beer.

In High School a girl made hints that she wanted sex. The hints went right over my head.
About a decade or so later, while reminiscing, I finally got the hints.
She was long gone.

Guinness tis the only fit beer to drink - that's to chase the Glenfiddich. Except for the occasional Grolsch Lager - my one straying from my preferred beverage.

Now the key question: Can you bait your own hook?

I estimate for me, at least 20 women where I didn't get the hint.

They need to be a lot more direct about these things.
