Ha hahahaha ... never mind, the Captain has determined it to be irrelevant.

April 15th is really April FOOL'S DAY."

Thomas Jefferson had NO REASON to make this statement -- So I did !!! Doug Scheidt /APRIL 1, 2010 / Year of the 2nd REVOLUTION.

Wrong image. THe teabaggers are not rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. They're arranging deck chairs on the Hindenberg.

THe teabaggers

I find yours and the rest of the left's inability to address critics with anything other than smears and childish name calling to be absolutely revolting.

I'm a college educate professional making a very good living, leading a very decent and honest life to the best of my means. I've likely read and pondered more canonical philosophy and literature than you and most on the left, performed more scientific enquiries using strict methodology than you and most on the left, and routinely employ extremely abstract mathematical concepts in my profession. I speak several languages and have traveled to various foreign nations. I'm a good and decent neighbor and always pitch in to help around my community when I can. I give to charity because it's the right thing to do and I would stand up and defend anybody in danger that I encounter.

Yours and the left's insistence on calling names at honest people protesting government abuse of power informs me of just how dishonest and craven you people really are. How supposedly thinking people can allow themselves to be propagandized to hate their fellow man, who has done them no wrong, and then go along with it with such unearned elitism and condescension is amazing.

If you folks want to paint us as unsophisticated ignorant hicks, that may fly in your circles. Out here in the real world though, every smarmy smear and insult adds more and more people into the ranks aligned against you. Understand that, or don't, but it is a fact. The day I meet one of you leftists who can back up his or her sneering elitism with anything approaching actual intellect will be a day that I will see pigs wafting about in the clouds.

MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

Excellent post.

Thank you.

It would be really nice to engage in open and honest debate with people like this, but they have this horrible tendency to immediately resort to ad hominem, sophomoric snickering up their sleeves with their cohorts about how "stupid" we all are for not believing as they do, and then resorting to "tea baggers!" and "douchebags!". That this very thing is pandemic in their institutions and media should alert everybody to just how deep their ignorance runs and how utterly dishonest they need to be in order to justify their own views.

I approach debate as being constructed something like an onion, it is composed of several layers and pieces, all touching the main point but sometimes not each other. When speaking to these kinds of people I cannot get them to see any view but their own, and have rarely ever seen them get past the dirt covering the onion to the actual substance. One casual remark that insinuates that their Received Wisdom is not perfect and they launch into immediate and ceaseless ad hominem, smug condescension and beady eyed zealotry. Ayn Rand referred to them as using the "Argument From The Sneer". I think that's a very astute turn of a phrase that precisely describes how they operate. Strange really though, those are the very things their intellectual forefathers (Marx & Company) criticized Christians for doing. Oh how the wheels turn. :)

Yes indeed. Good points. It's good to have you posting here.

Very well said, SonOfLiberty! Both posts continue in the pattern of lucid posts full of informative reasoning.

As long as we don't fall into the trap of "us" vs "them", yet another varation of the collectivist reflex, labelling and generalizing instead of discerning, we stay on the high road and away from hypocrisy.

That said, the disparity between people thinking for themselves versus regurgitating mind-control phrases and framed concepts is becoming more obvious, the contrast more stark.

This ties into the assertion you made: "their intellectual forefathers (Marx & Company)"

IMO, your phrase gives too much credit to the so-called "Progressives"; those who used to be called leftists but, like Blackwater, had to do a label change to deflect bad public relations. 8=>

Those who accept their edge-you-cation (grinding out pointy little heads) without question, parrot their mind-control direct from the media, revel in the virtual herd, the illusion that there is a consensus in zombie land leading to a better world, these slumbering mass minds have no intellectual forbears!

You must actually have a thought process to have an intellectual history and a functioning mind to have long-term memory. Perhaps too harsh but it is April Fool's day! 8=>

Some specific context:

I was reading the comments over on alternet.com (don't taze me bro!) because just like the commentary here, I learn more from watching the minds of ordinary, non-anointed people in action, in a free-form dialog, much more than from ANY form of man-made art: A/V story-telling, Evening Lies, or word-based "journalism".

Naomi Wolf Thinks the Tea Parties Help Fight Fascism -- Is She Onto Something or in Fantasy Land?

(Click on Comments)

Note the smarmy, Hegelian dialectic in the title of the piece, an example of today's me-too, peurile journalism we expect from the intellectually vacuous.

What I detected, to my delight, was that the comments from entrenched bobble-heads of any label, paled in comparison to those who were awakening. The tone and quality of reasoning in the discourse from those who were informed and trying to be civil and informative was really on another level above the screechy ad hominem attacks, hysterical fear-based projection of their inner demons upon others and the "Argument From The Sneer". The people sharing information and calmly standing their ground against the zombies of all persuasions were simply mopping the floor with the mob's shrill fallacies.

It is sampling such as this, on sites devoted to the sleeping zombies dreaming about a Utopia not requiring any character to obtain, while ignoring with religious blindness the crumbling of civilization all around them, that gives me hope (and much amusement!).

For all those faint-hearted chicken-littles who think that it is too late, I repeat: such dim views are more about your own minds than reality. There is no science in despair nor intelligence in admitting defeat, only the easy way out of pain, a temporary shutting down of the inner call to awaken, nothing more.

If you read the comments on this or any topic, the pattern becomes crystal clear: the sleepers are awakening and are showing far more spirit and awareness than the zombies trying to shout down the rising light.

It is fun to watch karma balancing in action, as the sowers of hate and empty vitriol reap empty hearts. More to come....

Anger? as a first reaction to get your a$$ moving, once you see through the Media Matrix and set yourself free from your lifelong mind control collar. Sustainable? not enough to screen your intention to be free from the Talosians, who can’t read primitive emotions but know what you watch on cable/sat, read on the Internet and eat. Our ultimate weapon is laughter and amused detachment at the folly of the would-be emperors. Fear mongers HATE it when the FEAR card doesn’t work. The humiliation of being seen as merely a naked ape is THEIR big fear. Laugh the bastards off the stage! Tell your friends that we can build a real civilization from the ruins of the totalitarian game!
