James 1 (King James Version)

James 1

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Pretty much self-explanatory but generally glossed over by the New Testament Church. I'm not a "religious" freak, I just get tired of weak sisters calling themselves Christians that fear Uncle Sambo so much that they bow to his demands rather than do God's Will.

They fear Man more than they fear God. That can't sit well as an indicator of their faith, in my view.

If Man is hewing babies out of wombs, murdering his fellow man on the battlefield for the lust and glory of politicians (iow, not in self defense), is training children to hate their mothers and fathers, is in effect sowing discord and casting a haughty eye at all times, then how could one ever let one's fear of man override one's fear of God's will and judgment?

"I'll lose everything, I'll starve, I'll be hurt..." all by Man's hand. But if they are truly Christian and faith sustains them, then they have to know that life here is temporary and fleeting and all deeds good and bad are brought before God ultimately in the afterlife. It stands to reason then that there should be no fear of Man for a person who does fear God.

So we do God's will, and if we perish then that too is God's will, but we receive life everlasting as a reward. If we do Man's will, where Man's government(s) defy God's will and create horrors and sins uncountable in our name, and we do not put a stop to our support of these things, then we stand before God every bit as guilty as the haughty eyed politicians and blood lusting fools.

This is a temporal place only, Christians should know that. Who cares what Caesar threatens, if you have Christ fully in your life it shouldn't matter what sniveling little Caesar demands. A true Christian should give all things to God, and nothing to Caesar (there being no division of property between God and Caesar, since that would indicate that God does not own everything).

If you have Faith in God it is your duty to reject bloody horrors of government. When Nebuchadnezzar tells you to pay tribute to the idol, your duty and very soul depend on you saying "no" and following up those words with defiance of that worldly king.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

"You've got to put right and wrong above legal and illegal. Because when tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty; and it is not rebellion at all, it is submission to the higher law that our government is in rebellion to. We're not the rebels, they're the rebels."

Matthew 17:20 (King James Version)

20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

One doesn't understand faith until he/she sees it into operation.

Caesar can own nothing apart from God. Giving unto Caesar was a riddle and not too hard to noodle out. All things belong to God, there is no property rights division between Caesar and God, since nothing can ultimately be claimed apart from God (this was a big part of Satan's sin of Pride).

Additionally, Caesar cannot demand things that are not his, as that invokes a whole host of sins, which we should not endeavor to help him commit. He is lusting after our possession and is presenting his demands at the point of a gun (meaning, if we don't submit he will kill us), in order to use those gains to go out and shed innocent blood in wars. Big sins right there. While we can choose to voluntarily give things to others out of Christian charity and goodwill, Caesar cannot claim those things as his right since that "right" would be based on no small number of mortal sins.

The original Christians, the ones who stood and heard Christ speak directly in life, went away from the Romans and FULLY disassociated themselves from the empire. There's a reason Christians were persecuted, in a society that at the time was the pinnacle of religious toleration. You could celebrate Aphrodite's cult in orgy after orgy, you could drink to the bitter dregs with Bacchus, you could engage in the warrior and poet cult of Apollo and you'd be fine, even if it meant all sorts of uncomfortable things. But if you believed in Christ, did no harm to your fellow man, and simply left Rome and went out to the countryside to live in peace and goodwill and stopped contributing to the empire (which they did), then you got thrown to the lions. Early Christians were the first ones to illustrate (albeit possibly unintentionally) that all government exists only by the consent of the governed. Once they no longer consented, government had a huge panic attack and started wholesale slaughter of them.

It is only later, when Paul (nee Saul) became an old bitter man who was reverting back to his government employee roots, that the message of Christ was crafted into a more...submissive...role towards government. Paul seems to have absolutely understood *nothing* Christ taught from what I can tell, it's almost like he wasn't even really there in the first place. Constantine, the ultimate in "preserve the failing Roman empire at all costs" guy, sealed the fate of Christianity by tying it to the state as he did. He saw the threat very clearly in the rather peaceful anarchistic "communities" the Christians were creating outside the reach of the empire, and bringing more into every day, and had to act (in his eyes). The rest, as they say, is history.

As a sidebar, I don't know about you, but for me the idea of continued support for a kingdom of the earth, which Satan openly claims as his domain (hence the reason he can offer it as a temptation to Christ), is discomforting to say the least. Giving unto Caesar really then becomes giving unto Satan. Yikes.

The coin Jesus used, from what I gather of the riddle, is Caesar's because Caesar created it with his own likeness. It could be then said to 'belong' to him in a stewardship sense (though even that I'd question, how did he strike the coin without first stealing from others in order to do so). So if you really want to get picky, it seems to me that simply not using Caesar's "coin" and going with your own immediately disempowers Caesar's demand and you then owe nothing at all, period. Just musing out loud.

Except that which belongs to Caesar, eh.

Two sides to that coin.

If we compare then to now, Caesar proclaimed himself god and claimed to own everything. Jesus' statement implied that Caesar wasn't God nor did he own everything.

Our Caesar is the Federal Reserve Bank. And yes, "They Own It all " including you (which is the title of a recently published book). IN THEIR WORLD, which will pass, that is where they own it all. In the illusion. The universe belongs to God, and we are joint heirs with Christ, and we are not of this world.

Taxes are the "FEDS" commission for allowing you to use their money in their world (jurisdiction). If the FEDS are the devil incarnate, killing babies at every opportunity, your payment to them makes you a business partner. (In my humble opinion.)

We've had the churches misconstruing scripture for a long time telling us crap like turn the other cheek, believe in Jesus and you're saved, ... when Christ ran the bankers out of the temple treasury with a whip and a multitude of scriptures warn that satan believes, but won't be "saved" ...

It's past time for making excuses or inventing new ones for enslavement to murderers.

Jail shouldn't be a concern in the ultimate view, IMO. If one were to partner with people who refused to use Caesar's likeness emblazoned coin and instead minted their own or bartered, the issue of giving to them through confiscation minimizes (doesn't disappear, they can still steal your horse right).

I think the issue of them confiscating more has to do with the notion of free will. If a thief steals the knife from your kitchen and kills your neighbors, that doesn't mean that you are guilty of sin. Sure, you could have NOT had a knife, but then you cannot claim to have anything that sustains life. The reason that stealing is a sin is that you were meant to be able to have stewardship over your own little lot of things, such that you can act and live in the world. It is only if you voluntarily hand over, with full will and consent, your knife to the thief as he declares that he'll kill your neighbor with it, that you've committed a bad act.

On the tax thing, I do see merits to say taxes for "roads, buildings, infrastructure, etc."

Taxes are to be imposts and excises, period. We pay for roads when we buy gas but these miscreants spend it on Israel or studying the bottom feeding sucker fish. (Maybe because they're related).

Income taxes "only" pay the "Interest" on the national debt.

The framers set taxation up so that it was truly voluntary. If one didn't wish to pay the excise he just didn't buy the product upon which it was charged.
