Upset over the incessant barking of a German Shepherd toward African Americans, Latinos and other non-Whites, a New York man stabbed a "racist" dog. As a result, the canine lost his eye and the attacker was charged in court. Consequently, in this crime, both parties appear to be victims "partially" of a difficult work environment. 58-year-old Andrew Owens and 4-year-old Jenna both worked at Valley Oil in Yonkers. Owens was a handyman and Jenna a guard dog. From the beginning, the two had a precarious relationship. According to Jenna's owner, she has a negative to reaction to minorities. As a result, she automatically didn't like Andrew Owens. Allegedly, in the past, her distaste for him led to a dog bite and lots of aggressive barking. Apparently, Owens was able to tolerate the situation until finding out the true reason behind Jenna's behavior. Afterward, he snapped cutting her, unprovoked, with a knife. Fortunately, Jenna did not lose her life. Yet, this story is a sad one that is causing many people to look at her owner. They question whether she was trained to hate minorities and as a consequence, acted out against them. If so, he would hold some responsibility for creating a volatile environment. Of course, Jenna's owner denies all allegations of training his dog to be "racist". Instead, he is focusing on an injured animal that regardless of her mentality didn't deserve a vicious attack. In the end, this is probably where most interested parties will end up.

Let's not ask if some minority had abused the dog at some point. It just couldn't be that could it ?

It could be that nothing was done to him. If you show fear of a dog, they will sense it and will probably react to it. Blacks have a seemingly inbred fear of strange dogs. In fact, thinking about it, after having been in hundreds of their homes, I don't recall them having dogs of their own. At least not in the proportions that white people have. I saw the occasional gangbanger with a pitbull, but that was about it. .

I had a good black friend and whenever she came over, I had to lock up my dog. She was on her last day at the pound, when a lady I worked with asked me to adopt her after my other dog died. She said the little black boys in her neighborhood used to hit her with plastic baseball bats. My daughter has a cat that arches her back, hisses, and attacks the window whenever she sees a black person pass by. My daughter had to take her to a vet once, and when they sent in the black vet's aide, and the cat started to tense up, my daughter told her, "This is really embarrassing, but my cat is racist. I don't want her to bite you or scratch you. Would you mind sending in a white person?" We don't know her story. She had been a stray outside our house for about a month before we took her in.

The existence of racism is obvious among all races. Racism isn't a bad thing at all until one uses race as causation for an act of negative aggression. While the races are different in may ways they are all equal in the eyes of God and with respect to the laws of human kind. Racism isn't the problem at all. The problem is mistreatment of another human being because of their race. My opinion is that every individual has the unfettered right to choose their associations in a free society. If a race becomes attached to certain traits or behaviors it's generally based upon facts that shouldn't be hidden but rather exposed. If a problem exists the only means of correcting it is to accept the reality that is exists and decide to change it. Dumb animals acting upon instinct that is possibly a learned behavior deeply embedded in the animal's genetics rather than rational thought processes is simply a fact.

Yeah sure.... The owner of Jenna is no doubt white which would make h/she a classic teabagger. Assorted hate crimes are in order.

I just wanted to comment because we're being told that racism is bad all of the time by those in authority that profess this nonsense but ignore it themselves.

I think the time has come to "let it all hang out" and clear the air.
