After years of federal and state meddling, the forces of big-gooberment has achieved a rate of divorce and broken homes over 50%. And many of the intact marriages are under appalling conditions (adultery, abusiveness, etc.).

Again, I don't see what it is (other than gooberment benefits that were always granted at the expense of a minority of citizens) that so attracts the gays to marriage.

Just because someone tells you you can't have something doesn't actually make it worth wanting.

Conventional suburban homos with two kids and going to the PTA is an inane end to so-called gay rights. The right to be Rob and Laura Petrie? Seems odd to pine for the Ozzie and Harriet routine. I thought the queer theorists had a more interesting and radical vision. But it turns out the homos are even more pathetic than the straights have been.

I suppose the next aspiration after marriage for meguro is to become a Republican, maybe join a country club.

That last line is a killer. I suspect some of you remember the flamer, meguro, who posted here for a bit. He apparently decided that we didn't bow and scrape enough to him and quit posting here.

There already are Republican homosexuals; some of whom belong to country clubs.

Homosexuality is a human trait that is spread around humanity as randomly as any other trait like blue eyes or brown, or right handed or left handed. No one asks to be wired that way any more than they had a choice to be heterosexual.

In fact, it lost much it's stigma in current culture when research showed in a decisive way that that sexual proclivity has no bearing on how successful, decent or productive a person someone is in life.

It only becomes controversial when people use this variation of human sexual preference as a way to scare people enough to accept mindsets of political or religious thought they otherwise would not be open to.

It is used as a catalyst to promote paradigms.

Which is why when I hear someone crying wolf about the alleged danger of a gay or lesbian bogeyman, I know they are full of crap.

From a Christian/Creator-God standpoint, it meant that He didn't know what He was doing which is absurd.

If your objection is that God would not make anyone with a defect, and that therefore homosexuality could not be a born defect, then wouldn't that mean that there would never be any genetically caused deformed babies?

Just looking to streamline the logic here.

Is there any proven evidence that homosexuality is genetic?

No, none that I know of. But neither is there proven evidence that it's the result of behavior, environment pressures or choice. Though I recall some doc saying that he found a potential corrolation between the size of one part of the brain and the sexual preference of that person. I.e. those attracted to females had one size and those attracted to males another, regardless of whether the subject person is male or female. I'm not versed in the details and would have to look for it, and I do recall that the finding is not billed as a scientific finding. And even if it was, it's wouldn't indicate that the size difference is the result of genetics as it could also be the result of a conditioned environment or choice.

If you're honest, the answer is a clear and resounding "NO!"

That's me.

Ergo, your argument is completely moot since genetics are responsible for "genetic" deformations/deformities.

I'm not arguing that homosexuality is the result of one thing or another. I don't why it happens and for me it's purely an academic question with the correct answer having no personal consequences. I just wanted some clarity on your position. It seems your claiming it not being genetically caused. That's fine.

And as long as we're going down that logic path, the logic states plainly that such genetic deformities were the result of sin along the way. So even if true, logically it would still fall under the consequences of sin.

But the "consequence of sin" is not something for which the Bible demands repentance, or that would include the hard labor men must endure in the field and the pain women experience of childbirth. Neither of those things are sin in of themselves, but biblicly are "consequence of sin". That's kinda like a non-filer charged with violating the statute in the IRC that states the penalty for not filing. It doesn't work. (Normally).

Yeah, heterosexual behavior is just something that turned a corner not long ago. Not that there was ever an established pattern or anything.

Okay, so your passionate on this issue. That's fine but don't let it be your downfall.

Obviously heterosexual is the norm. But to date there is no scientific explanation for why a minority of people are homosexual, and just because there's no scientific evidence it's genetic doesn't mean it's not. Contemporary science has no opinion on why some are homosexual, whether it's genetic, learned or something else.

But science isn't the be-all end-all, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
