What a joke. Instead, what we got was an opening of the floodgates ever since. As Ron Paul said: "You subsidize illegal immigration, you get more of it." Now we have around 12 million illegals. The argument most heard is that they should get amnesty because there are too many to deport. That is essentially an illegal immigrant BAILOUT. Check your Illegal Immigrant Deportation History and you'll find out that the U.S. has rounded up illegal immigrants and deported them at least twice before, once in the 20's/30's and again in the mid 1950's.
The point is America has deported illegals before and we can do it again. Especially at a time when our country is still dealing with severe unemployment and an economic crisis. There are probably plenty of Americans out of work that would be more than happy to help with that new job!

"Family Planning" is the control freaks' way of saying, "Hurry up and make that so for us." Dragging our economy down to third world levels isn't really necessary, either, to help those who are impoverished there by the aristocratic economic system that is designed to fail all in the world but the most moneyed. Refusing to trade with countries that cling to sweatshop and near slave labor pay rates for their people would be more helpful and humane. People can create value for themselves and others without businesses dictating how much money they have from a paycheck to work with. Value can be created just by working an hour to help someone fix something. The person that was helped needn't have to pay anything out of whatever crumbs they might have leftover from their place of employment. The person that helped them created the value by investing their time and effort and just about everyone could be so self-employed and self- sustaining in a time-based currency system -- even the elderly, the handicapped, and children by the jobs they generate for others and their participation in the caring for their needs. People have been conditioned to believe the wealthy are entitled to own most of our resources and we are beholden to them and their expensive mass-producing machinery for our livelihoods and survival but nobody but them really needs their debt-based money system or their feudalistic controllership. In fact, their every move against the Constitution here (like flooding us with illegal migrants, etc.) is a mockery of the general welfare clause, as well as treasonous.
