A 17-year-old Phillies fan who ran onto the field during a Phillies-Cardinal game was brought down in front of 40,000 people by a Taser from a uniformed officer, WXTF TV reports. The teen was wearing a red Phillies T-shirt and khaki shorts as he ran around the outfield, dodging security Monday night at Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams told Fox 29 news that the Taser is a "good tool" for police. "I think the police officer had to do what they think is in the moment, they're chasing this guy he won't stop," Williams said on the Good Day program. "They didn't use deadly force, he didn't pull out his weapon and shoot him and he used the Tasers." Philadelphia police Lt. Frank Vanore said the department will examine if this was "proper use of the equipment," meaning the Taser, the TV station reports.

there is a poll at the source asking the readers to vote on whether this was the proper use of a taser and so far 63 opercent say yes and about 90 percent of the comments under thestory are taking the side of the cop i really fear for this nation its like thep eople wan the u.s. to devolve into a police state thinking thety will never be affected cause they are the good guys and no rogue officer will ever harrass them cause they support to thepolice i dont really understand the mindset of cop worshipers have they ever seen youtube videos or read storys online of the out of control cops?

I don't know why they put all those lies in the paper and online about people who they claim have died after being hit with that. Guess they are all just lying cause you know the cops wouldn't. I am surprised the tazer worked from that distance. The boy could have been hurt falling face first into the ground as well, especially if it was astro-turf. I'll admit, the boy was incredibly stupid and seemed to be drunk, but didn't seem to pose much of a threat to anyone. One of the Philles should have been able to chase him down and tackle his ass quite easily, if not, then maybe they should sign the kid up.

She was around in the days before we became a militarized, obey-everything, fun is verboten, boot on the neck culture. Today she'd be tasered, clubbed, or worse. Same thing for those silly people who went streaking back in the 1970's. This country has lost its soul, and all we do is sit and chat about it.
