The point in this is to bias the general public against the AZ law. I know this took place in a different state. The baseline of the report should have been unwarranted police violence, not racial profiling.
We can't allow prostitute politicians sway people into believing racial profiling is a crime. It isn't, and it's been used since the dawn of time. The next time some whacked out leftist screeches about racial profiling, tell them it's perfectly legal and *sane.* If they continue to squeal, ask them what law it violates.
This is an example of cops having had enough of the day in, day out bull shit that comes with the job. I'm not defending it, but let me tell u after 5,6,7 years most cops should be retired much like the military. From experience I'm here to tell you the best members of the police department learn to hate the public (albeit unjustly at times). IMVHO, a "career" in the PD should be 10 years tops.
The other thing that doesn't help is cops with an IQ of my waist size. ... and no, I'm not some kind of obese county sow. LOL
I was hired by the NYPD in 1968, after having placed in the high 90s on their standardized testing. I was 6'0", 170 pounds. Today I'm 6'0", 210 thanks to La Dolce Vita. Obese cops never would have made it through a week of the academy. The testing - and physical requirements - were since modified many times over to accommodate for the idiot minorities that couldn't pass. I worked in every slum NYC has to offer and I'm here to tell you, the NYPD then, and I suppose now, is considered an occupying force by most of the public. Fine, I/we get it. If I were king, I'd withdraw all law enforcement from these slums and let them police themselves. Believe me those slums would be up in flames by July. But I digress. Back to the cops who kicked the shit out of this illegal. God bless them. I'd like to order a few thousand more and send them to the border for immediate posting. I dare say the illegal problem, with the support from the public, would end in a matter of months.
I'm basing my reply on yes they knew. If not, no, it was wrong.
But if he was illegal, and they knew (or it turns out he was), we best get behind guys with the balls to knock heads together. If you don't I suggest you learn Spanish, pronto.

I've been gone since the 80s, so I haven't a clue what they do today. I detest most of their pussified, revenue collection activities. In fact, when guys like myself get together with friends we laugh because we know we'd be arrested in due time - not for bribery, but for kicking the shit out of scumbags. A night time burglar got more "justice" from street cops than any political hack in a black robe could ever deliver. And the public LOVED it. So to your question, way back when, you'd be fine. I'd bet a weeks pay back then you could travel from one end of the city to the other w/o being called a Mick or a wop. In fact you'd never be noticed......
Watched it many a time, beat cop kick a kids ass and drag him home to his Momma. No court, no expense.
No lawyer, no record and in some cased the kid straightened out and flew right. Having been the recipient of both ends of that scenario, I'm thankful for the way things were.
