It's one thing for us, the citizenry, to damn our own government, but for illegal invaders to come in here and challenge our sovereignty still unites us against them. It's the old psychological dynamic of outsiders getting in the middle of a family squabble.

Yeah, I know. They just make me mad to see them yammering about being "Mexican-Americans" as if they could be both. You are either an American or you're not. I suspect these feel so strongly about their "heritage" that they should be beating feet back to the border and stay in Mexico when they get there.
