the stupider you people are, the better your chances of being a casualty of the dieoff... more left for my share when you're dead.

good deal.

everybody knows that the supply of oil is infinite, that doubling the amount of greenhouse gases will only make food grow quicker, that there's no way in hell that we could be fucking the planet up, that jesus will save us, that we should believe the israelis and israeli americans.

so what's the upside of human stupidity, bullheadedness, magical thinking, and deception?

I am glad you reaffirmed my own core beliefs 100% ..... NOT!

dont you think it's a good thing that so many people are victims of stupidity, bullheadedness, magical thinking, and deception?

doesnt all this random and stupid behavior enhance humanity's chances of survival?

I wish I could plunder their own naivete akin to a banker taking their savings and paying .02%/annum interest while they use a credit card issued from the same bank at 18%/annum. HELL, I would even increase their credit card limits beyond 100K.

doesnt all this random and stupid behavior enhance humanity's chances of survival?

There are those that say GOD is going to make all this right. Since I haven't seen any serious attempts lately (GOD's booming voice, burning bushs, angels, trumpets blowing) beyond ebay sales of rice cakes with Jesus's face imprinted as well as chemtrails in the sky, I would have to say no.

Comparable to Machiavelli's concept, "The ends justify the means" later used by Kaiser Wilhelm and his successor, Adolph Hitler?

in this extreme case, mormons should be encouraged in their doofus beliefs, because they might be right for the wrong reasons.

...assuming for the sake of argument that the survival of humanity is a worthwhile goal.

I like the part about Mormons taking as many wives as they can handle. That is an OUTSTANDING idea. I wonder how anyone can actually charm so many women on a regular basis? It needs research.

how anyone can actually charm so many women

probably more a matter of status and money than charm.

anyhow, to sum up, we have to recognize the value of stupidity.

stupidity may lead people to completely haywire paths, but, given the potential for unanticipated situations, that haywireness may have led people into positions that enhance their chances of survival.

so variations human behavior, based on whatever ill-begotten belief, will lead to better chances of human survival...

...assuming the scientists have got it all wrong, and western civilization, based on the scientists' science, is bullshit.

Personal failure often leads to a desire for improved survival methods which directly leads to greater chances of success.

Personal failure

by western standards, third-world people are failures.

they are more likely to survive the dieoff than americans.

what it boils down to, is: bless you for your stupidity, bullheadedness, and magical thinking.

you might have outfoxed the people who are trying to deceive you.

bless you for your stupidity, bullheadedness, and magical thinking.

So, at the end you believe in "hope." Such a nice thought.

i believe more in stupidity than hope.

Explain the difference.

Here is my take: "stupidity" directly leads to failure. "Hope" leads to a new set of circumstances that may ensure future success.
