I can't shake the uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. This isn't a typical "bad day feeling." It's the first time in my life that I feel I'm not in control of my future.

maybe it's because i got a head start or something... maybe it's because i've been expecting shit for so long... ...maybe it has something to do with my professional background... maybe it's because i've been on the edge since childhood (long-lost friends ---college, military, high school buddies--- when i rediscover one of them, are amazed i'm still alive)...

whatever, my gloomy period is long gone and i'm glad to be alive... for the time being.

on the other hand, maybe i've got a theory of what's happening that makes more sense than the bullshit peddled by the professional information people...

...which contributes to my peace of mind, which naturally influences my mood.

but i've always had an advantage: i've never believed in much, and i havent expected much.

in the 70s, returning from a lost camping trip in baja, i stopped at a fortune teller in san diego... she read my palm and asked me what i wanted.

i said, "i want to understand and accept myself" and she didnt say anything.
